"Spartacus" came to us from the Plaster Rock area on May 2, 2017. He is a beautiful little boy - a true gentleman. He loves to be petted and particularly loves his ears, cheeks and chin scratched. He is not so much a "pickin' up cat," but he is very affectionate and likes to spend time with humans. Spartacus was born about August 2, 2014.Spartacus tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), but he is a very healthy, happy, affectionate boy.FIV cats can live long and happy lives, especially if they are monitored closely for such things as upper respiratory infection (colds) or dental disease. Please read about FIV below and consider taking one of these beautiful cats home - they're perfect! Spartacus is currently in the home of a senior citizen as part of our Cats For Seniors program.

"Abel" came back to us on April 20, 2018 from Woodstock where he had been adopted in December 2015. He had originally come to us from Lakeville in 2012 where he was one of several cats who were hanging around a home but had no one to care for him. He, his brother Abner and sister Avis came to us all at the same time. Able and Avis have since been adopted.Abel is a sweet little boy who was originally very timid and needed his brother Abner to feel safe, but he's now very confident and secure and happy on his own. Abner is eating a diet of Royal Canin Urinary S/O food to make sure that he is healthy as he has a tendency to block if he eats other foods. We have had dozens of cats who have been placed on this diet and it works extremely well - no problems at all, as long as they eat this diet.Abel is currently in a foster home where he will be loved, cuddled and doted upon until he is chosen for a permanent home! He was born about April 1, 2012. Please come meet him -you'll fall in love!

"Splinter" came to us on May 8, 2018 from Glassville where he'd been part of a colony of feral cats that was trying survive. Splinter was born about August 7, 2010, so was about eight years old. In his life he had sustained several wounds and injuries. Today he displayed a very badly infected ear and he needed help.Splinter's ear was cleaned and he was placed on antibiotics to ensure the infection would not spread further. He wasn't sure what to think of us at first, but this old guy is happy to be warm, safe and have food delivered upon demand. He is doing well, and although he was initially a little timid and quiet, he's on his way to realizing that we'll take good care of him. He is currently fostered with six other cats in Florenceville and he gets along with them fine. He's still a little timid of humans, though, but loves his toys and to sleep on his human's bed! He hopes to have a permanent safe, warm andloving permanent home soon. He's tired of those long, cold, hungry winters and has paid his dues many times over. He likes to be patted and have his belly rubbed, but mostly he loves having his back scratched at the base of his tail! Elevator butt!! Splinter tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Please read about it below. He's currently fostered in a home with six other cats in Florenceville.

"Hatfield" came to us on February 4, 2019 from the NB SPCA. He was born about February 4, 2017, so was only about two years old. Because Hatfield came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, he was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019, at which time it was confirmed that he did not have Feline Leukemia and was perfectly healthy.
Hatfield was initially a bit timid, but he learned very quickly that he was safe and sound and that he now had many servants who would ensure he had everything he'd ever need or want. Hatfield currently lives with a half-dozen other cats who require a Royal Canin Urinary S/O food He sometimes requires medication on his belly since, if he gets a bit stressed, he sometimes develops red spots which are easily treated, but we know that when he gets his very own quiet home and family, he will be perfectly fine. He is very low-key, loving, attentive and affectionate. He just wants a nice, quiet home and family and he'll be perfectly happy forever! |

"Frazzle" came to us from Waterville on the morning of May 13, 2019 where she had been found on a porch at 8 am. Frazzle could barely move. She was brought for help and was immediately taken to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for examination and assistance. Frazzle was not in good shape. She was born about May 13, 2017, but weighed only three pounds.Frazzle was dehydrated, very pale, had halitosis, was emaciated, lethargic, had burdocks matted in her fur and had a purulent discharge coming from her eyes.A thermometer revealed that her body temperature was also several degrees below normal. She was very cold.Frazzle was warmed up, given intravenous fluids, medications and several tests were conducted to determine if her kidneys and other organs were working properly. Frazzle was so exhausted and weak that, in the next few hours and days, she could barely hold her head up when trying to eat warm food.On May 14, 2019, Frazzle received a blood transfusion from a generous feline donor which has begun to make a world of difference for her. Thanks, Biggie! You saved her life! Frazzle used the litter box for the first time on May 15 and appears to have the tiniest bit of energy - that's a WONDERFUL sign! She (and we) would like to thank the Florencevile Veterinary Clinic for their kind and hard work to ensure this little one has a chance at the life she deserves. We'll keep you up to date on her progress. UPDATE: On May 31, 2019, we learned that Frazzle is improving nicely and is comfortable, happy, purring and content with her huge staff of human servants who wait on her hand and foot, day and night. In June, she required a feeding tube to be inserted as she declined her meals. As of June 28th, she is eating on her own again and feeling better. She'll keep the feeding tube for another week just in case she decides she doesn't want to eat again, but she's doing really well! She hopes she can be well enough to go live with a family soon.UPDATE 2: On August 15, 2019, Frazzle was fortunate to go to a foster home where she is treated like a queen and is doing amazingly well! We'd like to thank her vet tech foster mom - you're amazing!! Frazzle is a very lucky girl! She is hoping for a permanent home. Donations in her honour are welcome and are very much appreciated. "Fivel" returned to DunRoamin' on August 1, 2019. He had originally come to us on June 5, 2015 from Florenceville where he had been found wandering in a yard. He had a lacerated right hind leg, a severe infestation of ear mites, bleeding ears and infected puncture wounds on both front legs. He needed helpand he was able to receive it. On December 15, 2015, he was adopted to a home in Peel. Unfortunately, he developed crystals in his urine which clogged his urethra, ensuring urine could not leave his body. This is very serious.Fivel was accepted by DunRoamin' and is currently undergoing care at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where he'll get exactly what he needs. He is a beautiful boy! On August 6, 2019, he underwent surgery to remove several tiny stones stuck in his urethra. This surgery, which included a perineal urethrostomy, allowed the stones to be removed/passed and he's doing better. He must eat a diet of Royal Canin Urinary S/O food to ensure he does not form stones or block again. We have had dozens of cats on this diet and have had not a single recurrence - as long as they eat Urinary S/O food, they're perfectly fine!Fivel is currently in our Cats For Seniors Program where he lives happily with his friends

"Waif" returned to DunRoamin' on January 29, 2021 from Woodstock where she had been adopted about three years previously. Waif had become ill and was not doing well, so she returned to her original vet to be treated. Waif had a temperature and did not want to eat.She was prescribed medication and required a feeding tube inserted until she feels well enough to eat on her own, which we hope will be very soon. Waif was born about January 3, 2017 and is a very nice, friendly, affectionate little girl. We'll keep you up to date on her progress. We'd like to thank her vet tech foster mother for taking such good care of her. She's in the best of hands.

In Memory of Lolli
Lolli originally came to DunRoamin' on July 27, 2014 when her owner had passed away and no one else wanted her. She was urinating inappropriately, had fleas and her fur was matted. Lolli was soon feeling better and was adopted to a home in January of the following year. Lolli returned to DunRoamin' on February 4, 2021. A young man found her in an apartment all alone when the tenant, Lolli's owner, had moved away and left her behind. He tried caring for Lolli, but she was peeing inappropriately; he had found an adoption contract in the apartment, so knew that she could come back to us to receive the help she needed. Her vet found her to have thickened bladder walls, so was started on some medication. Lolli was initially very wary of her new human caregivers, often hissing and lashing out. Who could blame her, though, after being abandoned by the person she thought loved her? We understood her fear and let her learn to trust us in her own time. Many treats were given in that time (and from then onwards!) and eventually she let us pat her, brush her fur and even hold her for short periods of time. She was always in charge though, and we listened when she said she had had enough. Lolli preferred to be an only cat, but she did accept the company of a select few cats over the years. As Lolli aged, we learned that she had a moderately severe heart murmur and she still struggled at times with urinating inappropriately - we were reminded of her sassy side every time we had to give her medications! On the evening of May 2, 2025, one of our staff noticed that Lolli was open-mouth breathing, an alarming behavior in cats. She was sedated by her vet who found, among other concerns, that Lolli was beginning to develop fluid around her heart and that the last couple of bones in her spine had fused together, the latter of which would have caused her immense pain. The heartbreaking decision was made not to wake Lolli and we said goodbye to her around 10pm. Lolli was almost 13 years old, having been born around July 12, 2012. Lolli's presence is greatly missed. We miss her sass and attitude, and seeing her get excited when she heard a bag of treats being opened. We're grateful for the time we had with her and being able to show her that some people can be trusted and that those people would always love her. We miss you, Lolli. |

"Gaia" came to DunRoamin'from a colony of cats in Somerville, NB. Born about January 1, 2020, she was not in good shape. Her left eye required enucleation (removal), and she required dental work once she was strong enough. On top of these medical issues, she was found to be diabetic. She's had a hard go, but that all ends today.Gaia tested negative for FIV and FeLV and was spayed. She requires a very tiny amount of insulin twice daily and a diabetic diet which have both allowed her to regulate her system very well. We hope that eventually she will need only the diabetic food and can dispense with the injections! She is a beautiful little girl who is grateful to be warm and safe. Now that she's starting to feel better, she is showing her real personality - and it's a winner! She hopes for a loving home very soon. Her insulin injections are really no big deal, are very inexpensive and she is SUCH a sweet little girl! She is already putting on weight and she will be very grateful to have a family of her very own.Diabetic cats may require a diabetic diet and/or an insulin injection once or twice daily, but once they are regulated, they do very well! Gaia eats Fancy Feast canned food and Purina DM dry food and she loves them both. She has put on weight and is now a healthy, happy, loving and affectionate little girl. She would love to have a family and live in a loving home - she's been waiting since Day 1, and she's definitely ready for one!!Please spay and neuter your pets!!

"Gilmore" came to DunRoamin' on June 2, 2021 from Gregg Settlement where he was peeing inappropriately in the home. Gilmore was assessed by his vet at Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and found to have cystitis for which he is now being treated. Gilmore is a sweet little boy. He loves to have his ears scratched and loves attention. He must eat Urinary S/O food only as he may have a tendency to block if he eats any other food. This is a high-quality food that we have used for years and have had not even one single recurrence as long as they stay on this diet! Gilmore is looking forward to meeting a family who will love him very soon! Perhaps there is a family that is already feeding their cat Urinary S/O food - he'd love to join!!On August 10, 2021, Gilmore went to be fostered with Rocky, another DunRoamin cat (see above). Thank you for accepting him into your home while he awaits a permanent home. You are wonderful!!

"Tanoo," and her kittens, Tamper, Tamara, Tardis, Trax and Tenet all came to DunRoamin' from the Fielding area on November 14, 2021, where they were living alone in and around an abandoned building. The location was cold, provided little shelter and even less food. Tanoo was born about November 18, 2019, and her babies were only about six weeks old. All kittens have since found homes.
Tanoo is a beautiful little girl who was initially very timid, as she had apparently never known the safety and security of a loving family. She is still slightly timid and it takes a minute for her to learn to trust a new person, but she has come a very long way and is doing well. She especially likes men, except for her young servant, Sophie, whom she also adores. We hope that Tanoo can find a loving family who will give her a warm home where she can spend the rest of her life. She was born about November 18, 2019 and we're hoping she gets the opportunity to know a nice warm lap and the joy of playing with a computer mouse! It may take her a few days to acclimatize in a new environment, but she would definitely love to have a home with a human or two, and maybe even one more cat. Please come meet her. |

She had been adopted on April 16, 2013, but had been returned as she was stressed by the noise and activity of young children. "Crombie" came to DunRoamin' on April 23, 2022 from Crombie Settlement, NB. He had been found in an abandoned house where he had been seeking shelter for quite some time. A kind lady had tried to catch him, but when she went back to the house he was gone. Approximately two weeks later, she was able to find and deliver him to us.
Crombie was born about April 23, 2012. Assessment by his new vet friend showed that he was very dirty, matted, emaciated, had fleas, ear mites, internal parasites and a luxating patella on his right leg. He had obviously been having a hard time trying to survive, but the worst and probably most painful thing was his mouth. All his teeth were rotten and painful and required to be removed. He also had a very bad abscess on his tongue which had resulted in a hole through his tongue. Crombie was immediately provided antibiotics, pain medication and a nice warm and comfortable bed. He was also given wet food which he devoured. Despite his physical condition, he was soon purring and kneading - saying thank you to his new vet for her help to make him more comfortable. All his medical issues were addressed and he has shown his gratitude each and every day since - he is a loving, affectionate little sweetheart!! Crombie was tested for FIV and FeLV. He tested positive for FIV which is absolutely no big deal - please read about it by following the link below. Crombie was soon a healthy and happy little boy who has bonded with Beau, who is also FIV+. They are the very best of friends and we hope that they may be adopted together. Both are neutered, fully vaccinated and treated for all parasites. They are exceptionally affectionate with each other and will bond quickly with their new human. They look forward to living in a home, watching TV, chasing a computer mouse and the many other things such fortunate adopted cats get to do! "Beau" came to DunRoamin' on June 19, 2022 from the Somerville, NB area where he had been hanging around for a few seasons, but no one could take him in. Recently he had been observed to have what appeared to be injuries on his face.
Beau was accepted by DunRoamin' and immediately examined by his new vet friend who observed an infected injury to his right cheek and several smaller wounds on his feet, one of which was an exposed ligament. These wounds were most probably the result of an attack by another animal while he was trying to survive on his own. Beau is estimated to have been born about June 19, 2018, so was about four years old when he arrived at DunRoamin'. Beau underwent sedation several times to have his wound drained, treated and sutured. He was prescribed pain medications and antibiotics to combat his injuries. Beau was also diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which you can read about at the link below. He and his best friend Crombie are the most affectionate and loving cats you may ever meet! They hope for a new home together very soon, and would be very pleased if someone were to choose them to join their family. FIV+I have FIV, click here to see what that means for me and you. |

"Josie" came to DunRoamin' on June 21, 2022 from the Victoria County area where she had been diagnosed with diabetes. Unfortunately, no one was available to provide her care, so she came to DunRoamin' to live with our two diabetic cats who eat Diabetic food and require insulin injections twice daily. Josie only requires diabetic food - not injections. Josie was born about June 17, 2012.
Josie is a beautiful little girl who has become much more outgoing and playful. Thanks to the care and interest provided by her vet friend at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, Josie no longer requires insulin injections - and is happy to eat whatever she wants. She currently is eating Royal Canin Adult food and Fancy Feast canned. Josie is a very sweet, quiet little girl who will do very well in a quiet home by herself, or perhaps with one other cat of similar age. She is social, playful and doing very well, but would SO like to have her very own family. She deserves it! As a Senior, she hopes for a quiet retirement home. |

"Kensi" came to DunRoamin' on July 6, 2022 from the Woodstock area where her owners could no longer care for her, so her options for life quickly became limited. Born about May 5, 2019, Kensi had developed kidney stones and required surgery to remove them which took place on July 7, 2023. Of course, with the skills of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, surgery was successful and Kensi recovered well.
Kensi was overweight when she arrived and is working on her diet to ensure that she soon is of a healthy weight. She weighed about 18 pounds when she arrived and was soon down to about 16 pounds, so she has done a great job! She is a wonderfully affectionate girl with a beautiful personality and sparkling blue eyes that will easily win you over! She eats Royal Canin Urinary S/O food to ensure that she will have no similar medical issues in the future. She is currently living with a half dozen other cats and she has absolutely no issues - she loves them all! Please come meet her. |

"Yaeger" came to DunRoamin' on January 17, 2023 from Somerville, NB. He had been a stray in the area for about four years but was now injured and had no one to care for him. Yaeger was born about January 17, 2014. He had several deep wounds on the side of his face that were probably self-inflicted due to the large number of parasites he was carrying which made him so itchy and uncomfortable that he scratched himself very badly in an effort to stop the pain. Yaeger was immediately provided with all medical care required, including parasite control. As of February 17, 2023, his wounds are healing well. He is a very nice boy who has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Please read about it here. Yaeger's wounds have healed very well. He may still have a bit of scarring on his face (or not!), but his eyes glow with gratitude now that he is pain-free, warm, safe and has such a delicious and nutritious diet. He would love to have his very own home and family - that would be a miracle to him! Please come meet him - he loves people and has lots of attitude!!

"Lawrence" came to us on January 17, 2023 from a local shelter. He was diagnosed with diabetes and required daily injections of insulin which, due to the particular timings of this requirement, his caregivers were unable to provide. Lawrence was born about January 22, 2013 and is a very nice boy.
Lawrence also had a wound on his hind leg which required medical care. His wound has healed completely and he is responding well to his insulin which is provided once each morning. He is a vocal and sweet little boy whose only wish is that he might live in a home, sleep on a bed with a human, and watch a bit of TV every once in a while! He eats Purina DM dry food along with his Fancy Feast chicken or Fancy Feast fish canned food. Lawrence also had dental issues upon his arrival, so he required dental surgery to remove all his teeth. He still loves his dry and canned food and definitely has no issues with his daily insulin injection. Lawrence is very calm, quiet and loving - he'd make the PERFECT addition to any home that would love to have some affectionate feline company! |

"Shirley" came to DunRoamin' from Woodstock, NB, on July 24, 2023. She had been found as a stray and it was believed she had trouble breathing. Examination by her new vet showed that she had some upper respiratory infection and a bit of diarrhea, but was otherwise fine.
Shirley was born about July 24, 2020 and is a beautiful little girl. Her diarrhea quickly resolved with proper diet and medications from her new vet. She hoped to have a safe, warm, loving and permanent home once she was fully up to date on her vaccines, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites. Shirley was already spayed upon her arrival, so she had a home at one time. She is a quiet, unassuming little girl who would do well in a home with one or two other cats (as long as she has lots of human attention - she loves that!) Shirley is a very affectionate little girl. She eats a prescription diet of Royal Canin Selected Protein food as she has experienced some food allergies, but this is not an issue for her at all. She looked forward to a nice, quiet home with some humans who will love and wait on her for the rest of her life. She definitely deserves it, and will give the love back - in spades!! On March 24, 2025, our hearts were broken. Shirley had developed cancer and began to show signs of pain and did not want to eat as a result. We were so sad to see her go, but we know she had the very best of love and care possible while she was with us. Have a great time with all your DunRoamin' friends at Rainbow Bridge, Shirley. We will all miss you terribly, especially Klink and Groves. You were the very best, and we all love you.. |

"Imogen" returned to DunRoamin' on August 13, 2024 from the New Maryland area to where she had been previously adopted. Her family kindly and generously took her in, as they have with numerous special-needs cats such as Lois, Derp, Sharon and Booker. We are so fortunate to have their love, care and patience for these little ones and are extremely grateful for all they have done for many of our special-needs ones.
Imogen is deaf and tested FIV+ (please read about FIV HERE), but has no issues at all with life in general. She learned a great deal of things in her new home and was dearly loved, but unfortunately she was a bit too much for her new special siblings who are older and require a bit more than normal care. Imogen is currently re-acclimatizing to her old home here at DunRoamin' where she is living with two other FIV+ cats (Marshall and Humphrey). Being deaf, she talks louder than normal (ie: "yells" at us for her food!) but she is very loving and affectionate. She is hoping for a retirement home where she might live as an only cat who may claim all the attention of her new family. Other than her deafness, she is a typical cat. She was born about January 18, 2017, so is about seven years old. On April 28, 2024, Imogen met her new family who drove from New Maryland, NB, to pick her up. She now lives with DunRoamin's Derp and his siblings, where they are all spoiled beyond belief. Imogen thanks everyone who made her new life possible - it couldn't be better! Congratulations to both you and your new family, Imogen. Please send photos soon!! FIV+I have FIV, click here to see what that means for me and you. |

"Hoover" returned to DunRoamin' on August 16, 2024. He had originally come to us on April 19, 2024 from Woodstock where he, his mom Henrietta and siblings Hayden and Heist had been dropped on the doorstep of someone who could not cope with cats. He was adopted on July 8, 2023 and did well, but was subsequently required to eat a special diet to ensure he did not block. His owners were unable to keep him on that diet, so he returned to us where it was learned that he was badly blocked (urine could not leave his body). Hoover was born about February 19, 2023 and is the SWEETEST boy you will ever meet!
Hoover required a urinary catheter to be inserted into his ureter in order to be unblocked. He was placed on IV fluids and had his bloodwork checked, which was fine. He was soon SO much better! Hoover will require a diet of Royal Canin Urinary S/O food which will guarantee that he will never block again, so he will be perfectly fine (and perfect!) forever. We have had dozens of cats on this diet, and there has never, ever been a recurrence! Please come meet him - you will fall in love in no time at all! |

"Strauss" came to DunRoamin' on October 28, 2014 from the Brookville area where she was one of several cats who had taken refuge in a shed. Kind neighbours had very generously taken on the task of their care and were diligent enough to notice a lump on her belly. She had an umbilical hernia which was quickly repaired when she was accepted as a DunRoamin' ward. Strauss was born about May 1, 2014. Strauss has become a very affectionate and trusting little girl. As of January 21, 2015, she is fostered with a family in Bristol. Thanks, Shawn and Mitchell, for giving her a home environment. It is most probably a very unique experience for her! She is currently eating Urinary S/O food.

"Drew" came to DunRoamin' on August 7, 2024 from a local shelter. Born about May 19, 2022, he was diagnosed with diabetes. As the shelter could not house a cat who required insulin twice daily, he came to us as his only alternative for life. He was already neutered before his arrival.
Drew is a beautiful little boy. He loves to fist bump with his head, and his huge eyes glow with intelligence. He required only 0.5 units of Lantus insulin twice daily initially, but now he requires no insulin at all - just a diabetic hard food and Fancy Feast chicken or feast canned cat food. And he LOVES to be brushed! Drew is very anxious to go to a new home where he can be a best friend to the human(s) who will love and care for him for the rest of his life. He would be ecstatic if his friend Ronald, who is also diabetic, could go with him - they are very close! Both would love the stability of home and family - it will be Drew's fondest wish, which will hopefully come true very soon. He is fully up to date on his vaccines, tested negative for FIV and FeLV and is treated for all parasites. If you'd like to meet this little boy, please drop us a line! |

On July 26, 2024, we accepted "Teak" and numerous other cats from the Lansdowne area where they were living in a colony. All were skinny and had an excessive number of fleas. Teak, born about August 1, 2023, was pregnant and very skinny.
Teak was very grateful, loving and affectionate to her new servants. All her medical issues were addressed and she has completed her medical protocol which included spay, full vaccines, parasite control and testing for FIV and FeLV. Teak tested positive for FeLV (please read about it through the link below). Teak is very bonded to her friend Meloni (who also tested positive for FeLV) and they cuddle, play, eat, headbutt and spend all their time very close to each other. It is our hope that they might be adopted together to a home where they will experience what life should be: full of love, food, affection, warmth, shelter and family. FeLV+ cats can live long and happy, healthy lives. Please consider this beautiful little girl - you won't regret it! FeLV+I have FeLV, click here to see what that means for me and you. |

"Ronald" came to DunRoamin' on July 18, 2024. Diagnosed as diabetic, his caregivers were unable to provide for his health. Fortunately for him, we have several diabetic cats who require twice-daily insulin injections so he joined them to ensure that he would have the life he deserves. He is a kind, laid-back, sweet little guy who wants only to give his love and affection to a human (or two!) who will give lots back in return.
Ronald was born about June 28, 2016 and is hoping to join a family soon. His insulin is a small twice-daily injection that he takes very easily - especially if there is food involved! He definitely loves his food! Please give us a call for more information. This little guy is a keeper - he just needs to find his very own family!! He is very vocal (especially when he's hungry!) and he has a very best friend, Drew, who loves him SOOOO much!! They constantly walk shoulder to shoulder and head butt each other with such affection! Drew is also diabetic. Please read about him. |

"Rosco" came to DunRoamin' on July 16, 2024 from Perth-Andover where he was no longer able to be cared for by his owner. Upon coming to us, he was panting heavily and had parasites. Born about December 31, 2010, he was also not vaccinated and had not been to a vet in many years. All these things were rectified to make him more comfortable.
Rosco is an older guy who dreamed only of health and contentment in his later years, but that was not meant to be. He was diagnosed by his new vet friend as having a cancerous growth beside his thyroid which is not curable. He still feels good, so we are giving him the best life possible. Rosco will stay with his DunRoamin' family where he will be spoiled and loved and receive the best of medical care for the rest of his life. We are honoured to take care of this little boy - he is a sweetheart who deserves the very best. |
Humphrey |

"Humphrey" came to DunRoamin' from the Somerville area on June 27, 2024. A stray who had been hanging around for awhile, a lady had noticed that he now needed help so had been trying to catch him for several weeks. He eventually lost the physical ability to get away from her and was fortunate enough to be brought for care. And he really needed medical assistance.
Humphrey is thought to be about five years old, having been born about June 27, 2019. Upon examination by his new vet friend, he was found to be emaciated, dehydrated, matted, had ear mites, fleas, worms, arthritis, upper respiratory infection and his teeth were in a terrible state with stomatitis, which would have been very painful for him. He tested positive for FIV (please read about it HERE) which is not such a big deal at all! Humphrey was provided with pain medication, antibiotics, steroids, IV fluids and lots of nutritious food. He was soon eating cautiously and was grateful for his new-found wealth of medical care, food, water and caring friends to help him. He initially spent all his time eating or sleeping in an effort to regain some of his health and strength. He was quiet, respectful and grateful for all he received. Humphrey had all his teeth removed, which changed his life entirely. He was soon much more outgoing and friendly, and his gratitude still shines through at every moment he sees a human. He loves to yell at us for his breakfast and has his very own personal bed which he also loves. If you try to do any paperwork on a table, you will not accomplish much - apparently one of his favourite sleeping spots is on the paper or in your arms! He loves to be picked up, and will hug his humans in gratitude for all he has received in this new life. Humphrey was also diagnosed with significant lack of vision - he seems to see shadows and can locate people and food, but is sometimes hesitant with his footing in a new environment, so his current room is never rearranged. He was also diagnosed with Diabetes in December, 2024, so he requires insulin each morning. He would just like a quiet retirement home where he can enjoy a human's love, a lap to sleep on, some good food and a nice warm bed - that's all he asks. After all, he thinks he is in heaven now! Just imagine what he would think if he got his own very own home and family! |
Marshall |

"Marshall" came to us on June 23, 2024 from the Four Falls area and he desperately needed help. Found on the side of the road all by himself the previous evening, he was in bad shape. As his rescuers were unable to take on the medical care this little stray would require, he came to us to get the help he required. Examination by his new vet friend revealed the following:
Marshall was approximately seven years old, having been born about June 23, 2017. He was emaciated, weighing only slightly more than four pounds. As of the middle of April 2025, he weighs 6.8 lbs, so he is doing much better! He had multiple wounds on his body, including one on his right hind paw that was infested with maggots, so the injury was not a new one. He had fleas, ear mites and was anemic. He also had upper respiratory infection which displayed in his eyes and in the mucous running from his nose which made it more difficult for him to breathe. Marshall was also very dehydrated and his coat was in very poor condition, due most likely to a combination of all his medical issues. Marshall also tested positive for FIV. Despite all this, Marshall was very affectionate with us, grateful for the love, care, warmth, food and medical assistance he was now receiving. He was fed small portions of Royal Canin Gastrointestinal canned food mixed with water to help him regain proper hydration and his vet friend at the Florenceville Vet Clinic (FVC) took excellent care of him while he recovered. His treatments included antibiotics, steroids, parasite control and laser therapy, as well as the nutritious diet he is receiving. Marshall soon came back into our care where he continued to be spoiled rotten as we brought him back to health. We hope for a loving home for this little boy - he must have been out there on his own for a very long time to be in this shape, and he deserves no less than the very best of homes and family. He is well enough to join a loving family to which he looks forward very soon. His coat has grown in, has put on some weight and would love to experience a home and family, probably for the first time in his seven years of life. He tested positive for FIV (read about it below) which is not a big deal at all. He is healthy, happy and hopeful for a home and family soon. FIV+I have FIV, click here to see what that means for me and you. |

"Klink" came to us from Gladwyn, NB, on June 11, 2024 as a stray who was part of a colony. He had had diarrhea for many, many weeks and no one was able to help him or take him in. Born about June 13, 2022, he was very skinny, had ear mites, fleas and had fecal balls and diarrhea in his long black fur to the point that he had to be shaved to remove the hard, dried, painful layers.
Klink initially appeared to be a bit wild, but that was just his fear showing. Once he was shaved, provided medication and a diet of Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Fibre food to help with his diarrhea, he showed himself to be a sweetheart who loves to be patted and loved, and he certainly loves his warm, soft bed! Klink is now neutered, fully vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites. He is anxiously searching for a home with someone who will love him for the rest of his life. He is extremely playful, affectionate and loving. He has had some issues with diarrhea and soft stool, but both he and we have been working on that and he's had no issues at all in the past few months of 2025! And he loves his Royal Canin Gastro Fibre food! He is a gorgeous boy with long black hair and a personality that just doesn't quit! On April 25, 2025, Klink was very happy to learn that he and his friend Kiana had been chosen to join the family of a young man in Woodstock. Congratulations to these two friends! They will be so happy to stay together!! |

"Meloni" arrived at DunRoamin' on August 14, 2024 from the same location as Juniper, Magnolia, Cedar, Oak, Elm, Teak, Monica, Geller, Joey, Tribbiani, and Marcel. This is a colony of cats that we have been doing our best to spay/neuter so they do not develop into an even larger, more sick feline community.
However, as cats are continually dropped off/brought in, it is yet another huge and difficult task for a rescue to accomplish. Meloni was born about December 15, 2019 and is a very sweet little boy. He tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) but is very healthy. Please read up on FeLV - it's no big deal, especially if they are safe, warm, vaccinated and receive a nutritious diet and lots of love. Please come meet this little boy. He is a sweetheart who loves his friend Teak and would love to spend the rest of his life with her in a warm, loving family. Both Meloni and Teak are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites. Their lives are almost complete - they just need a loving family. On October 25, 2024, Meloni underwent a total ear canal resection and ventral bulla osteotomy which is a surgery to remove any infected area and ensure that infections do not have a place to grow in the ear. He is already back to his normal self, and much more comfortable, thanks to his surgeon at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic! He also underwent dental surgery to remove some bad teeth in early 2025, and he is now 100%! He looks forward to that loving family who will soon be his! FeLV+I have FeLV, click here to see what that means for me and you. |
Brix |

"Brix" came to DunRoamin' on October 1, 2024, from Good Corner where he was an owned cat. Apparently healthy previously, approximately one week earlier he began to be unable to walk and he stopped eating. His owner was unable to undertake medical care for him, so he came to us as a last resort.
Brix was born about October 3, 2021. Examination by his vet revealed that he was displaying neurological symptoms, was blind, he had lockjaw, was "knuckling" with his paws and was therefore unable to walk. Due to the medical care he received, near the end of his first week of care, he was eating a bit, his lockjaw had lessened and he could take a few steps on his own. Rabies was ruled out (he had not been vaccinated), but his vet friend has a challenge in front of her - which she will easily meet - he feels better already! He may have a long road ahead of him, but he will get the best of care. He is a sweet little boy who already shows gratitude for the warm bed, food, significant decrease in pain and discomfort, and the fact that he is now able to see is AMAZING! As of March, 2025, he is still improving. He can see, run, jump, play and can he ever eat!! He definitely loves his food! He has begun his vaccine protocol, as well. Donations are very much appreciated so that he may continue to receive the medical care he requires in order to become 100% well and join a family as an indoor cat where he will be safe and loved forever. |
Seymour |

![]() |
"Seymour" came to DunRoamin' from the Fredericton area on March 10, 2025. His owner was moving, could not take him with her, and could not find anyone who wanted a diabetic cat. At this point, his life became at risk, and his only option for life was to come to DunRoamin' for help.
A visit to his new vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic determined that he was about eight years old, He had a bladder infection and is definitely diabetic. As he has had no medication, his diabetes was uncontrolled, and since he didn't feel good, he was very unhappy. He was cranky and not very nice to his new friends, but we understood completely. Seymour was prescribed medication and he was soon feeling much better. He is much happier, less stressed and is happy to be cared for by his new servants who can now pat him, play with him and even pick him up! What a difference a little medical assistance can make in a little cat's life! Seymour will soon be 100%, once his diabetes is completely under control. He displays his gratitude each day for his improving health, and he is becoming a very happy boy who loves his caregivers and is happy to show that love! |

SplinterPaula Chater Fredericton, NB Jennifer Eagan Perth-Andover, NB Shellie Stewart Fredericton, NB Michael Goodfellow Jacksonville, NB "Splinter" came to us on May 8, 2018 from Glassville where he'd been part of a colony of feral cats that was trying survive.

HatfieldDebi O'Leary Woodstock, NB Bella MacDonald Florenceville-Bristol, NB Sherry LeBlanc Fredericton, NB John Kelley and Family Burton, NB "Hatfield" came to us on February 4, 2019 from the NB SPCA.

FrazzleEastwood Play & Learn Daycare Woodstock, NB Kathy & Peter Evans St Almo, NB Jo-Anne London Upper Woodstock, NB "Frazzle" came to us from Waterville on the morning of May 13, 2019 where she had been found on a porch at 8 am. Lolli |
LolliJo-Anne London Upper Woodstock, NB Jennie Craig Woodstock, NB John Kelley and Family Burton, NB In Memory of Lolli

Gaia |
GaiaMarian Lockey Florenceville, NB Stephanie Klein Russell, Ontario

Gilmore![]() Cheryl Michaud St Basile, NB Debbie Robinson Lakeville, NB Stephanie Klein Russell, ON "Gilmore" came to DunRoamin' on June 2, 2021 from Gregg Settlement where he was peeing inappropriately in the home.

Tanoo |
TanooLaurie McHatten Rosedale, NB Meredith Culberson Oromocto, NB Jo-Anne London Upper Woodstock Fredericton Cat Spa Fredericton, NB "Tanoo," and her kittens, Tamper, Tamara, Tardis, Trax and Tenet all came to DunRoamin' from the Fielding area on November 14, 2021, where they were living alone in and around an abandoned building.

Dazzler |
DazzlerAnnabella Vallotton Woodstock, NB Jo-Anne London Upper Woodstock, NB Sherri Gerrow Greenfield, NB Michaela Wright Fredericton, NB Jamie & Michelle Ibson Woodstock, NB Dazzler returned to DunRoamin' on November 18, 2021. She had originally come from the Hartland area where she and several siblings had been found locked in a shed during hot summer days. She had been adopted on April 16, 2013, but had been returned as she was stressed by the noise and activity of young children. On December 4, 2014, she was adopted by a couple from Stickney, but they eventually gave her up for reasons unknown.

Crombie |
CrombieWanda Giberson Oakland, NB Christopher Morris Halifax, NS Katie Daigle Woodstock, NB Leisa Bowmaster Perth-Andover, NB "Crombie" came to DunRoamin' on April 23, 2022 from Crombie Settlement, NB.
FIV+I have FIV, click here to see what that means for me and you. |

Beau |
BeauWanda Giberson Oakland, NB Laurisa Hickey Hartland, NB Christopher Morris Halifax, NS Sandy Klein Florenceville, NB "Beau" came to DunRoamin' on June 19, 2022 from the Somerville, NB area where he had been hanging around for a few seasons, but no one could take him in.

Josie |
Josie![]() Delores McGuigan Upper Kent, NB Jan Chisholm Fredericton, NB Ashley Greening Blandford, NL "Josie" came to DunRoamin' on June 21, 2022 from the Victoria County area where she had been diagnosed with diabetes.

Kensi |
Kensi![]() Jo Anne London Upper Woodstock, NB Kathy & Peter Evans St Almo, NB Shelby Shaw Saint John, NB Wanda Giberson Wakefield, NB "Kensi" came to DunRoamin' on July 6, 2022 from the Woodstock area where her owners could no longer care for her, so her options for life quickly became limited.

Yaeger |
Yaeger![]() Christopher Morris Halifax, NS Tanya Scheib Grafton, NB Jo-Anne London Upper Woodstock, NB "Yaeger" came to DunRoamin' on January 17, 2023 from Somerville, NB.
FIV+I have FIV, click here to see what that means for me and you. |

Lawrence |
Lawrence![]() Vukasin Veselinovic Woodstock, NB Woodstock After School Care Woodstock, NB Catherine McLaughlin Fredericton, NB "Lawrence" came to us on January 17, 2023 from a local shelter.

Shirley |
ShirleyNadiene Kinney Beechwood, NB Sherri Gerrow Greenfield, NB Delores McGuigan Upper Kent, NB "Shirley" came to DunRoamin' from Woodstock, NB, on July 24, 2023.

Imogen |
Imogen![]() Jan Chisholm Fredericton, NB Diane and Reg Wasson Florenceville, NB Ashley and Tyler Green Grand Falls, NB "Imogen" returned to DunRoamin' on August 13, 2024 from the New Maryland area to where she had been previously adopted.

Hoover |
HooverHeather Bishop Perth Andover, NB Viola Mosco Oromocto, NB "Hoover" returned to DunRoamin' on August 16, 2024.

Strauss |
Strauss![]() Bliss and Valerie Burgoyne North View, NB Debi O'Leary Woodstock, NB "Strauss" came to DunRoamin' on October 28, 2014 from the Brookville area where she was one of several cats who had taken refuge in a shed.

Drew |
DrewJennie Craig Woodstock, NB Jo-Anne London Woodstock, NB Pam Murphy Woodstock, NB Laura Morris Woodstock "Drew" came to DunRoamin' on August 7, 2024 from a local shelter.
|
Teak |
TeakCabatu Family New Maryland, NB Jo Anne London Upper Woodstock, NB Kerstin Drost Holmesvile, NB On July 26, 2024, we accepted "Teak" and numerous other cats from the Lansdowne area where they were living in a colony.

Ronald |
Ronald![]() Eastwood Play and Learn Centre Woodstock, NB Ashley Brooks Lakeville, NB Jamie and Michelle Ibson Woodstock, NB "Ronald" came to DunRoamin' on July 18, 2024.

Rosco |
RoscoGwen Wills Fredericton, NB Marian Lockey Florencevile, NB "Rosco" came to DunRoamin' on July 16, 2024 from Perth-Andover where he was no longer able to be cared for by his owner.

Humphrey |
HumphreyChristienne Stevens Nackawick, NB Shellie Stewart Fredericton, NB Karen Troy Woodstock, NB

Marshall |
MarshallDavid and Madeline Legere Moncton, NB Abcde Prosse Windsor, NB Larua Cormier Woodstock, NB "Marshall" came to us on June 23, 2024 from the Four Falls area and he desperately needed help.

Klink |
KlinkTracey & Rob Johnston Florenceville, NB Alisha Clowater Oromocto, NB Viola Mosco Oromocton, NB "Klink" came to us from Gladwyn, NB, on June 11, 2024 as a stray who was part of a colony.

Meloni |
MeloniCabatu Family New Maryland, NB Laurie McHatten Rosedale, NB John Kelley and Family Burton, NB Jamie & Michelle Ibson Woodstock, NB "Meloni" arrived at DunRoamin' on August 14, 2024 from the same location as Juniper, Magnolia, Cedar, Oak, Elm, Teak, Monica, Geller, Joey, Tribbiani, and Marcel.

Brix |
BrixJulie Smith Perth Andover, NB Jan Chisholm Fredericton, NB "Brix" came to DunRoamin' on October 1, 2024, from Good Corner where he was an owned cat.

Seymour |
Seymour![]()
