This is "Domino." On June 28, 2011, three cats and 12 kittens were rescued from a barn near Hartland. They were enclosed in a shed and were hungry and thirsty. Most had earmites, fleas and worms. They appear to be from three families. Dancer was the mother of four little girls - Domino, Dizzy, Dazzler and Dylan who were born about May 25, 2011. All were slightly timid, and appear to not have had much human contact. The kittens rapidly became socialized with the help of their foster family and feline foster brothers and sisters. We'd like to thank Kelly and Kevin, as well as their other foster families, for taking them in and giving them a chance at becoming members of a real family. On December 23, 2011, Domino met a lady from Plaster Rock and was invited to become a member of her family. Domino will spend her very first Christmas with them. Congratulations! Halen was only about six weeks old when he came to us on July 5, 2011 from Upper Kent. He had been found all alone in a gravel pit. He was too young to eat on his own, and since he had no one, he badly needed us to help him. Halen was too young to eat on his own, so he was fed by syringe until he could sustain himself. As of August, he was doing very well. He's very playful and loving, and he has long orange and white hair. He's a handsome little devil, and he knows it! Halen went to stay with a family in Woodstock for awhile, and . . . . . . on December 23, 2011, it became official. He is a proud permanent member of this family which includes three other cats, three young girls and Minus, a cute little canine. Merry Christmas, Halen. Taylor is a four-month old orange male kitten who has no tail. He was found on December 12, 2011 in the Connell area where he was observed running all by himself on a road that is frequently a running area for coyotes. Such a tiny little kitten all alone would not have lasted long, between predators, the cold weather and lack of food.Taylor was brought to DunRoamin' where he was found to be very skinny and hungry, but otherwise healthy. He considers himself very lucky and displays his gratitude with love for his rescuer and potential family members. On December 22, 2011 Taylor was officially adopted by his new family. He'll spend his first Christmas in Greenfield with his new family where he'll get the most love and best care he could ever dream of. Merry Christmas, little guy!

Jethro was brought to DunRoamin' on October 27, 2011 after being found near The Ark in Florenceville the previous evening. He was freezing cold and had many fleas, and when brought to the clinic his temperature was too low to register on the thermometer. He was only about five weeks old.Jethro got better by the hour since he's been given the best of care by the tech who looks after him. After such a poor start and such a close call with death, he's grateful to have a second chance. He also had a tail injury, so he has no tail now!On December 22, 2011, Jethro was adopted by a lady in Woodstock who has two dogs and two other cats, all rescues. Jethro is looking forward to his first Christmas in a real family. Congratulations, Jethro!

Meet "Feta." She and her siblings Mozza, Parm and Cheddah came to us on June 20, 2011 from the Bristol area where yet another unspayed stray had given birth to kittens. They had no one to care for them and were in danger of being euthanized. Who could possibly allow that to happen to such beautiful innocent babies? Parm and Feta are girls and Mozza and Cheddah are boys. They were very timid and didn't appear to have had much to do with humans, but are very cute and curious and were no problem at all to socialize. All had the pleasure of living in a wonderful foster home in Pembroke where they enjoyed their foster family immensely, and we know their foster family feels the same way! Feta was the last to find a home, and she lived at the Clinic where she was loved by all, and vice versa.On December 22, 2011, Feta was introduced to a lady from Somerville who immediately fell in love with her cuddliness! Feta will spend her first Christmas with her new family. Congratulations! Merry Christmas, Feta. Please write home often!

There was some concern about their health upon their arrival, but they quickly became well with care and nutrition. They were too young to have their eyes open. They were fostered in three different homes, and Apricot was quite timid, but she soon learned that she was safe and loved. She quickly learned to trust and loves to be picked up and cuddled.On December 19, 2011 Apricot met a lady from Fredericton whom she picked to be her new family. She will spend her first Christmas in a permanent home in 2011, and is looking forward to many more with her family. Congratulations, Apricot! Merry Christmas!.

Meet "Vader." On September 7, 2010, a lady received a phone call from tenants of a mini home in East Brighton, NB who had moved out without proper notice. They told her that they had left their cats behind in the unoccupied and unlocked home. She immediately went to the home where she found one adolescent cat and three babies. She then observed a mother dragging a fourth kitten toward the home and later found several more. They had apparently been put out to survive on their own. A total of eleven cats and kittens were located. It appears that the mother, Soya, was only about a year old, and had two litters of kittens. The youngest litter contained two boys and four girls. Vader was one of them. They were generously fostered by some very strong pet lovers and DunRoamin' supporters in Perth-Andover. We're ever so grateful, Jordan and Jennifer. Vader and his siblings came to stay at the Clinic, and . . .. . . on December 19, 2011, he met a couple from Upper Kent, and the rest is history. He'll spend his first Christmas with them as a family, and he's looking forward to the rest of his life with them. Merry Christmas, Vader!

Bellatrix, her four siblings and mother came to DunRoamin' on October 7, 2011 from Gordonsville, NB. They had been born on an outside deck on October 6, during the first snowfall of the year. The owner wanted them gone. One had already died because of the conditions in which they were born. The others had no better chance of survival.Bellatrix is the smallest of the kittens, but she has a huge appetite and an even larger personality. She's very playful, and did we mention "cute?"On December 14, 2011 Bellatrix met a lady who fell in love with her. She will spend her first Christmas and every single one afterward with her new best friend in Fredericton. Congratulations, Bellatrix, Merry Christmas!

Frisko came to us on October 28, 2011 from East Brighton where he and his four siblings were found all alone. They were very young, having been born around the middle of August. With this cold weather and snow, they would not survive on their own. They were cold, hungry and covered in fleas and had earmites, two very uncomfortable and debilitating parasites. Frisko is an orange tabby boy who was also treated for upper respiratory infection as well as the fleas and earmites. They were accepted into a wonderful foster home in Woodstock where they learned all about love and family. On December 10, 2011, Frisko was adopted by a couple from Hartland, where he is now a new friend of a two-year-old cat and a sixteen year-old cat. He's happy to be the best Christmas present his family will get this year!! Congratulations, Frisko!

Weasley, his four siblings and mother came to DunRoamin' on October 7, 2011, from Gordonsville, NB. They had been born on an outside deck on October 6, during the first snowfall of the year. The owner wanted them gone. One had already died because of the conditions in which they were born. The others had no better chance of survival. He and his family were fortunate to be fostered by a family in Bristol which includes two young kids, two kids and a couple of dogs also, so he's learned to love everyone and everything! Weasley loves to be close to humans - a real snuggle bug. He's a sweetheart, and is very playful. On December 10, 2011, Weasley was introduced to his new family, and he'll now live in Grafton where he'll be a new friend for the entire family which also includes Darth, another ex-DunRoamin' stray. Congratulations, Weasley! Please send us a photo with you and Darth!

Nike came to us on August 31, 2011 from Woodstock where he and his mom and four siblings were covered with fleas so badly that they were anemic. They were also starving and cold. One of the kittens, Fila, was unable to survive and passed away shortly after coming through the door. The others, three boys (Nike, Reebok and DC) and one girl (Puma) required intensive vet care. Sadly, Puma did not survive either. The kittens were about four weeks old. All were fortunate to be fostered in a loving home, and have grown to be beautiful little kittens.On December 10, 2011, Nike attended the Adoption Fair sponsored by Carleton Co-Op. While there, he met a lovely lady from Wapske who fell in love with him immediately. He'll be a new friend for her and her cat. Congratulations, Nike!

Hunni came back to DunRoamin' on March 1, 2011. She had been adopted by a lady in September 2010, but due to medical reasons, she was no longer able to care for her. Hunni was born about 2002, and is a beautiful little girl. She's very quiet, and has the most beautiful green eyes you've ever seen. She's very affectionate and is excellent company. She's a little timid until she gets to know you, but then she's your best friend. She'd prefer a quiet home with no other cats, but has no problem at all with dogs. On March 25, 2011, Hunni was chosen as a foster kitty by a very nice gentleman in Fredericton. She later went to live with a friend of his to enjoy a quieter life in a home with no other pets. On December 7, 2011, we received an e-mail from Hunni's foster mom which made us extremely happy. She said, ". . . when I lift the blankets and see those eyes staring up at me, I realize she's my buddy and I am hers. So . . . my Christmas present to her (and to me) is a permanent home. I want her as 'my little girl.' Hunni is no longer looking for a home. She has one." And it's the very best one possible, and it's forever. Merry Christmas, Hunni and Donna!

Luna, her four siblings and mother came to DunRoamin' on October 7, 2011 from Gordonsville, NB. They had been born on an outside deck on October 6, during the first snowfall of the year. The owner wanted them gone. One had already died because of the conditions in which they were born. The others had no better chance of survival. Luna is very mischievious, and is always into something! She's a real sweetheart!On December 9, 2011, Luna and her brother Hagrid (see below) were adopted together into a family in Bristol, where they'll enjoy their first Christmas. Congratulations!

Hagrid, his four siblings and mother came to DunRoamin' on October 7, 2011, from Gordonsville, NB. They had been born on an outside deck on October 6, during the first snowfall of the year. The owner wanted them gone. One had already died because of the conditions in which they were born. The others had no better chance of survival. Hagrid is the biggest of his siblings and is very fluffy and soft. He's the one who is always watching, checking out everything and everyone. "The Professor!"On December 9, 2011, Hagrid and his sister Luna (see above) were adopted by a lady in Bristol. They look forward to many Christmases together with their new family. Chomper came to us from the Oakland area on November 17, 2011. He had been attacked by a dog and had suffered a broken hock which would not be able to heal on his own, so his leg had to be amputated. As a result, he must live inside to be safe, and his family was unable to ensure that he did, so he was surrendered to ensure he could have a good life.Chomper is about four years old, and is a wonderful little boy. He's quiet, loving and affectionate, and he's great with kids, dogs and other cats. He needed a foster home in which to recuperate from his surgery which took place on November 21, and on November 22 he met the family who will give him everything he needs while he recuperates. He was fostered in Florenceville and he went there on the birthday of the one-year daughter of his foster family. On December 2, 2011, we learned that Chomper, renamed Linus, had endeared himself to the entire family, and he was officially declared as a full-time member. He'll spend his life watching his new best friend grow up. Congratulations, everyone! Way to go, Linus!

Tinsel came to DunRoamin' on December 20, 2010 from the Hartland area. She had been dropped off at the home of a family that was well known to be caring and compassionate about animals. Tinsel was very loving and friendly, obviously having been a family pet at some time. She's a very pretty little girl, and has a wonderfully loving and affectionate personality. She's not at all shy, and lets you know when she wants to be patted or cuddled. She particularly loves to be picked up and held, but will accept affection from any human in any manner! She has big round beautiful eyes, and she loves to purr. Tinsel loves dogs, cats, people and especially kids.On November 21, 2011 Tinsel met a lady and her two young children. When the kids walked in, she decided they were taking her home, and that was that! Tinsel now lives in Jacksonville with her new family which includes a mom, a daughter and a son. She now has a real family, but don't forget your old family at DunRoamin', Tinsel! Please keep iin touch and send lots of photos. We'll miss you, but we're sure you hit the jackpot!!! Lindsey came to DunRoamin' on June 28, 2011 from Lakeville where she had been accidentally run over by her owner. They did not have the financial resources necessary to cover the surgery that was required to repair her broken hip, and euthanasia became an option. Lindsey was only about a year old, and this is not the life for which she had hoped. She was fortunate to be surrendered to DunRoamin', and her hip was repaired. She healed very quickly, and was soon running and wrestling with the young kittens.On November 14, 2011, Lindsey was adopted by a lady from Hay Settlement. Her new family includes a dog and one other cat to keep her company. Congratulations, Lindsey. Have a great life! Please send family photos!

Sylvia came from the Upper Kent area on February 2, 2011, where she had been seen hunting along a fence for quite some time. Some people finally were able to catch her. Besides being cold, hungry, full of fleas, and covered with burdocks, her left hind leg was broken in at least five places, and was turned so that it looked like it had been put on sideways. She was unable to put any weight on it, and was struggling to survive in the -25*C temperatures by hunting for her food, despite the pain she must have felt. On February 11, 2011 she underwent surgery to amputate her leg as the injury was too severe to save it. She's now very comfortable and happy, pleased to be safe, warm and have a full belly. Sylvia loves children, and is not at all intimidated by dogs. Sylvia was born about the first of February, 2010, and she's beautiful. On November 5, 2011 she was very happy to be fostered in Fredericton with Morley, Lilly-Beth and Birdie, where she settled in very quickly and happily.On November 13, 2011, her foster father informed us that he greatly admires her gentleness and courage, and knows that he his family could never be without her. She's now a permanent family member. Thank you, Dan, Morley, Lilly-Beth and Birdie, for giving another beautiful being a wonderful new life.

Anne Shirley was found in the basement of a home in Woodstock and came to us on September 19,2011. No windows were open, they had no other cats, and there was no way in or out. She was only about two weeks old. She is very tiny and she had fleas, but they were treated and are all gone now.Anne Shirley is a beautiful little kitten who was cared for by a vet tech until she was old enough and strong enough to go to a permanent home. She quickly learned to eat on her own, and loves to play. She has double paws on both front paws and one hind paw. On November 10, 2011, Anne Shirley was adopted by a family in Fredericton. She's now a new sister for Minor (see above), another ex-DunRoamin' stray. Thanks very much to their family for giving them both a great home.

Clapton came to us on May 30, 2011, one of 11 kittens rescued from Mainstream where they were living alone under the home of a man who was undergoing cancer treatment in Saint John. Canyon and his siblings were born about May 1, 2011. Clapton is a beautiful little grey tabby with lots of love and energy that explode out of him daily. He particularly loves his brother Canyon (see below) and they are together constantly. Clapton is happy to be in a foster home in Centreville where he and his brother are loved beyond words by their foster family, and they're worming their way into the hearts of their two older cats, too!On November 2, 2011, we learned that there was no possible way the family could do without these two little monsters in their lives! They make them smile constantly, and Clapton has just realized he likes to play in water in the tub! Congratulations, everyone!

Canyon came to us on May 30, 2011, one of 11 kittens rescued from the Mainstream area where they were living alone under the home of a man who was undergoing cancer treatment in Saint John (see above). Canyon and his siblings were born about May 1, 2011. Canyon is a beautiful little grey tabby. He`s very loving and affectionate and loves to cuddle with his friends and siblings. You'll find him on top any kitten pile, and he particularly loves his brother Clapton (see above). He and Clapton were very fortunate to be fostered together in Centreville . . .. . . where it quickly became obvious that they'll never leave! On November 2, 2011, it became offical that they are permanent family members and will share their lives with two young boys and two four-year old cats while they entertain their two human adults at the same time. Congratulations, boys, you got it made!

Diamond is a tiny female stray kitten who was rescued from the freezing temperatures in Bath, NB, and came to DunRoamin' on December 17, 2010. She was hungry, cold, literally covered with ice, and full of worms. Diamond was dewormed and all other medical needs were addressed. When she became strong enough, she was spayed and vaccinated. While recuperating, she was fostered by a very compassionate couple in Bath. On November 9, 2011, it was learned that Diamond will now live permanently with her rescuers in Bath. She's the best pet ever, and we're very glad she has a forever family now.

Major is Ursa's kitten and was born about the first of April, 2011 along with her siblings Minor and Leo. They came to us on June 28, 2011. Leo and Minor were both adopted. Major is a beautiful little girl with a wonderful and friendly personality. She gets along with other cats very well and loves people. She doesn't even really mind dogs! She's extremely energetic and will dominate every second of your time if you'll play with her!On November 1, 2011, Major met a lady from Ashland, and they decided to co-habitate. Major will also be joined by her friend Enuf (see below). Congratulations! Have a great life!

Enuf was found in the middle of the road near the Catholic Church in Johnville and came to us on August 12, 2011. The lady who found her actually thought she was a small grey rock on the road at first, because she didn't move at all. Enuf was diagnosed with extreme earmites and fleas, she was skinny, dehydrated, starving and exhausted. Her medical conditions were treated, and she was now ready for lots of nourishment and rest. She had to be fed by syringe since she was too weak to eat on her own. She was born about the first of the month of May, 2011. Once she felt better, she wanted nothing but to be held, cuddled, patted and loved!On November 1, 2011, she met a lady from Ashland whom she really liked. The lady invited Enuf and her friend Major (see above) to come live with her. Congratulations!! Don't forget to write and send photos!

Deena, about a year and a half old, and her daughters Dilly, Dally, and sons Dewey and Disney, born about May 20, 2011 came to us on May 30, 2011 from the Mainstream area where they were living under an unoccupied home with nine other cats and kittens. They had no one to care for them. Her kittens have all been adopted. Deena is a beautiful cat who was an excellent mother to her kittens. She's quiet, attentive and loving, and she likes dogs. She was born about October, 2010, so was only a kitten herself when she had her babies. She has since been spayed. Deena lived at the Clinic while she waited her turn at a home where she can give her love to a family who will love her back. On October 29, 2011, Deena's dream came true. She was chosen by a family who attended the Howl-A-Ween adoption fair to go and live with them and their two dogs. They chose Tallie, too (see above). Congratulations to all!

Tallie came to DunRoamin' on August 4, 2010 when she was found hanging out at Pizza Delight in Florenceville. She was very hungry, thirsty and scared. She had no one to care for her. Tallie was examined and all her medical needs were addressed. She is a beautiful cat with a very affectionate and quiet personality. She loves people, and is very good around other cats also. She was about a year and a half old, and is a beautiful pale tabby with very pale orange in her fur. Tallie holds the distinction of being the "Banner Cat" at the top of each page of the DunRoamin' website!On October 29, 2011, Tallie met a family which includes two dogs while at the Howl-A-Ween Adoption Fair. She was invited to go and live with them, and she's ecstatic. And it addition, her friend Deena is going, too! Thanks to this family for giving her what she's been waiting for for more than a year!

Reebok came to us on August 31, 2011 from Woodstock where he and his mom and four siblings were covered with fleas so badly that they were anemic. They were also starving and cold. One of the kittens, Fila, was unable to survive and passed away shortly after coming through the door. Her sister, Puma, passed away two days later. The others, three boys (Nike, Reebok and DC)) required intensive vet care, but they recovered well. They were born around the end of July. On October 26, 2011, Reebok met his new family. He now calls Red Bridge home where he'll live with his new family which includes a brother, Gizmo, who is a Shih tzu and is the same colour as Reebok! They're gonna be best buddies!

Gomez and his sister Morticia came to DunRoamin' on October 28, 2010 from the Lakeville area. A stray had arrived in the neighbourhood and had kittens. Sadly, at least six of them had already been killed on the road. A compassionate person rescued the last two from the same fate. Gomez and Morticia were only about four months old. They had really bad earmites and were exhausted from trying to survive on their own. The weather had been cold, and they were only babies. They were spayed and neutered and Morticia found a home.Gomez is a real "cat person." Although he likes people, he loves to sleep in a cat pile, and head butts and shows his affection for his friends constantly. He loves a good belly rub and ear scratch, too. He says he's the softest cat in the whole place, and we agree! He must have a home with at least two other cats, because he loves them so much.On October 25, 2011, Gomez met a family from Florenceville who wanted to add to their feline family. Gomez will live with four other ex-DunRoamin' strays, Cairo, Chilli, Ella (Kelly) and Titan, and the family has also accepted Linda and Karen as foster kitties! Thank you SO much! Moses became a DunRoamin' cat on April 8, 2011. He had been found on a highway near Woodstock and was very thin and he had fleas and earmites. He was also jaundiced and dizzy when he walked. Blood work conducted on him revealed that he had anemia from a blood parasite he got from the numerous fleas he was carrying. He also had an auto-immune disease which was destroying his own blood cells. At one point he had to be on six pills each day. Moses is a beautiful little 1 - 2 year-old boy. He's very friendly and enjoys his warm bed and abundance of food and attention. His health improved steadily since he came to us, and he's now 100% perfectly healthy. He gets along with all cats, and is particularly fond of the younger ones. He's a beautiful, affectionate and loving little boy who loves to play and sleep in a cat pile. On October 22, 2011, he introduced himself to a lady from Bathurst and informed her that he was going to go home with her to live forever. Sha had no choice but to agree, and he will now live happily ever after enjoying the view of the ocean from his window. Thanks, Amanda!

Kilo came to us on July 25, 2011, from the Hartland area. He had just experienced his third urinary blockage and his family could not undergo the expense of another medical intervention. His choices dwindled to euthanization or DunRoamin'. Kilo is about four and a half years old, and he's the most cuddly and affectionate cat you could ever meet. He's obviously been well loved, because he knows how to reciprocate. Kilo is on a Urinary diet which will help him control his urinary problem and he'll be fine as long as he sticks to a choice of several types of cat food. On October 22, 2011, his dream of having his very own loving family came true when a lady and her two children arrived to take him home. He purred the whole time, and happily walked into his kennel. He'll now live in Woodstock along with Jazz, another ex-DunRoamin' stray. Congratulations, Kilo!

Montana is a six-month old kitten who was found in a barn in Newburg with serious injuries on February 23, 2011. The right side of her face was badly damaged in that her jaw was broken in two places, her cheek bone was missing and she had facial nerve damage. Her fur was matted and filled with pus, blood and dirt. It appears she may have been the victim of an animal bite which became infected. Despite all this, she was purring and hungry enough that she wanted to eat. She's a fighter, and was by no means ready or willing to give up, so neither were we. Montana's face, skin and cheek required reconstructive surgery, and it was necessary to remove part of her jaw. In addition, she required ear surgery to spare her hearing and make her comfortable. She has undergone three surgeries. Montana is the most beautiful kitten you could ever meet. She put on weight like crazy, and well she should, having wolfed down three cans of food a day! Her personality is loving and affectionate. Her spirit is strong, and she is grateful for the chance she has been given. All who have met her have fallen in love with her, and why shouldn't they? She's an amazing portrait of all things beautiful combined with love of life and the will to live it! On October 14, 2011, Montana's favourite person came to take her to her forever home. Montana will now live in Bedell with several other cats, including Wednesday, who had similar injuries when she was rescued. We'll never worry about you now, Montana. You're in heaven! Celine and her sister Cimone came to DunRoamin' on July 16, 2010 from the Hartland area where they had been found in a barn all alone. They were heavily infested with parasites and were hungry, although not as scared as you might expect. It seems they realized that people were trying to help them. Celine was a tiny bit timid, but that didn't last long. She's very affectionate now. Celine has black on her nose, and Cimone's nose is white. They were born about the middle of March, 2010. On December 31, 2010, they went to a foster home and Celine eventually came back to us where she lived with numerous other cats with whom she got along famously. She's extremely affectionate with very soft fur.On October 13, 2011, Celine met a lady from Knoxford who fell in love with her (and vice versa) and she and her friend Tibby (see below) both went to live with her. Have a great life, you two! We know you'll love your home! Write often!

Tibby was born about the first of May, 2009 and came to us on September 10, 2009 from Piercemont where she had been found in a barn. Both her hind legs were broken, and she was attempting to drag herself around with her front legs. She was immediately cared for, she underwent surgery and was adopted out on October 16, 2010. On August 3, 2011, she was brought back because her adopter was moving and could not take her along. Tibby is a beautiful little girl. She is completely healed and there's no evidence at all of her injury. She's affectionate and loves people and other cats. She also doesn't mind dogs.On October 13, 2011, Tibby won over the heart of a lady from Knoxford who loves animals and was anxious to give one or two a really good home. Tibby and her friend Celine now live happily every after with her. Thanks very much, Bobbie!

This is "Crouton." On May 16, a couple caring for a feral stray learned that their neighbour found three tiny baby kittens under his house. One was already dead, and one of the others was screaming her head off. It took more than a half hour to get them out from under the house, and they were very cold, hungry and distressed. The neighbour called their local SPCA who informed him that they would be euthanized if they were brought in, as they had no room. Since they couldn't let this happen, they took them in also, and even though they were not her kittens, Spatula happily mothered them. They were fed by syringe until they were old enough to eat on their own. Crouton is a little girl, and her brother Milhouse (see below) is a little tabby boy. Crouton is responsible for their rescue, because it was her voice screaming out for help! They had very bad eye infections, and at first there was very little hope they'd survive, but thanks to both of their foster mothers and their foster father, they thrived and are now fine. On July 24, 2011, they moved to a foster home in Halifax to stay with two Canadian Forces personnel where they'll be well cared for. On October 9, 2011, it was made official. Crouton and her brother Milhouse (renamed Monica and Mr President) are now officially dependants of CF personnel. Thanks, David and Cynthia!

Jordie came to us on September 9, 2011 from the Bath area where he had a serious leg injury. It is thought that perhaps he got his leg caught in something very sharp, and when he tried to pull his leg out, it broke in several places. He also sustained several cuts and injuries to his flesh. His left hind leg had to be amputated, but he's doing okay now. He was born about the middle of May, 2011, and he's a little purrball. He's very affectionate and loving.On September 30, 2011, we learned that Jordie is now a permanent member of a family in New Denmark. Congratulations, everyone. Have a great life, Jordie! You've certainly earned it!

Peyton came to us on August 15, 2011 from Centreville. She was a pregnant cat who was dropped off in the area, and she needed help. She was only about a year old. Her rescuer brought her for help.Peyton was spayed and became healthy very quickly. She is a beautiful little girl who loves attention and loves people even more. She lived with nine other cats, and she got along with every single one very well. She's very laid back.On September 26, 2011, Peyton met a young lady from Bristol who has moved to Fredericton. She will live with her and will be her best friend. Please send updated photos of you in your new home, Peyton. We'll miss you.

Minor is Ursa's kitten and was born about the first of April, 2011. Minor, her sister Major and brother Leo came to us on June 28, 2011. The kittens were fostered by a family in Brighton where they became very loving and cuddly. They love people. Minor is very beautiful and has long blonde lashes on her left eye which gives her a very unique and gorgeous "come hither and adore me" look! On September 15, 2011, a family came from Fredericton to meet Minor and she happily went home with them. Congratulations, Minor, on getting your own permanent home and loving family. Please send lots of pictures!

Noodle and her sister Chick came to us on June 22, 2011 when they were found on the side of the old Trans Canada Highway near Hartland. A kind couple starting out on vacation saw them, realized they needed help, turned and went back for them. After delivering them safely for medical care and assistance, they returned to search for any others who might need help. Neither their mom nor any siblings were found. Chick 'n' Noodle were born about the middle of May, 2011. They were very tiny and had fleas, earmites and worms. All, of course, were treated. They were boney, hungry, scared and trembling, but allowed themselves to be picked up as if they were aware they could only benefit from their adventure today. Chick was adopted on August 12, 2011. Noodle lived in the Nursery at the Clinic with her kitten friends while they await a new home. On September 15, 2011, Noodle's fondest dream came true. She was chosen by a young man and his mother along with her friend Cate (see below) to be the newest member of a family in Bath which also has a 13-year old cat. Congratulations to the entire family. We're so happy for you, Noodle!

Madison originally came to DunRoamin' when she was abandoned in Jacksonville in January, 2007. She was born about March, 2006. She was adopted in March, 2007, to a lady in Woodstock, where she's lived ever since. The lady subsequently injured herself, and no longer was capable of caring for her. On October 22, 2010, Madison came back to DunRoamin' to find another home. She's a beautiful girl with pale orange fur. She was upset at first about losing her home and her family, but with all the love she's getting from DunRoamin' volunteers, she's doing very well now. If you sit in a chair, she'll make a bee-line for your lap, where she'll lie down and purr herself to sleep. She has a favourite stool that she loves to sit on. On September 5, 2011, a young lady from Florenceville and her two-year-old daughter met Madison and decided she was the one for them! Madison quietly laid beside her new young best friend, and we know they'll have a great life together. Congratulations!

Judy and her friend Debbie came to DunRoamin' on May 31, 2011, from Houlton, ME when they traded themselves for Jerome so he could have a safe and loving home with other FIV-Positive cats. Both girls were already spayed. Judy is a long-haired multi-coloured cat who is very affectionate. She was born about January 2008 and lived here with numerous other cats with whom she gets along well, although if one of the younger kittens gets a little too rambunctious, she is the one who puts them back in line! On August 31, 2011, Judy met a very nice couple from Gordonsville and decided she'd like to live with them. They really had very little part in the decision-making process! We're happy to report that they're now a family. Congratulations!

Maurie came back to DunRoamin' on August 22, 2011. He had originally come to us on August 9, 2010 when he was found all alone in a flower garden in Florenceville. He had been adopted in June, 2011 to a home in Williamstown, but their Yorkie kept chewing on him, so they decided he'd be better in another home.Maurie is the same sweet, affectionate and quiet kitten he was when he left us. He's extremely laid back, and cares only about his family. He loves other cats and dogs, and is very loving to people. He's a medium long-haired little guy, and he's a real sweetheart. He was born about July 7, 2010. On August 28, 2011, a young college student who had met Maurie in the spring and loved him from afar all summer learned that he was back with DunRoamin' and looking for a new home. She immediately returned to adopt him. Maurie and Megan will live in an apartment in Fredericton while she attends UNB. Congratulations, you two! It obviously was meant to be!!

Glitter and her sister Jazz came to us from the Grand Falls area on October 20, 2010 where they were rescued from a feral colony by an SPCA officer. The person who was looking after them had fallen ill and was no longer able to provide for them, so they came to us for help. Both had fleas and worms, and although they were part of a feral colony, they were not yet feral. Glitter was born about June 21, 2010. Glitter has been fostered by a very nice couple in Florenceville since December 1, 2010. She loves her catnip toys and is very happy to be living in a foster home. She hopes to be a permanent member of a loving family very soon. On August 23, 2011, Glitter was adopted by her foster family. She is ever so grateful to finally be an official member, and we all would like to thank Ashley for her kindness and generosity to Glitter and her DunRoamin' friends.

Meet "Baylene." On May 30, 2011, three mother cats came to us, along with their collective 11 kittens. They had been living in Mainstream under the home of a man who was undergoing cancer treatment in Saint John, and had no one to care for them. They were all healthy, and the moms are beautiful, loving and affectionate. Had they not been accepted by DunRoamin', chances are some of them would have died, some would spend their days fighting to stay alive, and all would have contributed to the growing number of unwanted strays. Baylene is a beautiful light grey tabby who loves her siblings and all her friends with whom she lived in the Nursery. She's very playful and loving. On August 19, 2011, Baylene departed for her new home in Moncton, where she'll be comfort and company for a young student attending college. During her time as a DunRoamin' volunteer she fell in love with this perfect little kitten, and now they'll share a brand new life. Congratulations! Thanks, Sydney, for all your time.

Conan originally came to DunRoamin' on August 22, 2008 from Upper Kent where he had come to a home asking for help because someone had shot him in the jaw. He couldn't eat and was in a lot of pain. He became well with vet care, learned to trust people again and was adopted on March 25, 2009 to a home in Lansdowne. Conan was born sometime around August, 2006. Conan lived happily with his family, but his adopter moved away and could not take him with her, so on August 3, 2011 he came back to us to help him find a new family. Conan is a long-haired orange cat who, right now, is scared and confused. Conan received a visitor a few days after he arrived, and she was quite smitten with him. On August 15, 2011, she returned to take him home. Conan now lives with a wonderful lady and her other cats in Woodstock. Thank you so much, Lisa. We're so glad Conan has a chance with a family again. He really deserves the best, and he got it today.

Bach came to us on May 30, 2011, with three mother cats and their collective 11 kittens. They had been living in Mainstream under an unoccupied home, and had no one to care for them. They were all healthy, and the moms were beautiful, loving and affectionate. Had they not been accepted by DunRoamin', chances are some of them would have died, some would spend their days fighting to stay alive, and all would have contributed to the ever-increasing number of unwanted strays. Birdie was about one year old, and her daughters Blur, Baylene and son, Bach were born about April 20, 2011. They were fostered in Fredericton, and their foster mother reported they are the cutest things ever! On August15, 2011, Bach went to a family in Jacksontown where he'll live happily with his new family pictured here. Congratulations to all!

This is "Shredder." He was found on the road in Greenfield on Saturday evening, June 18, 2011, and he was in rough shape. Although there was no evidence of trauma, he had a head tilt, he was growling, circling and was very distressed. He was so vicious that gloves had to be worn to protect his rescuers, and a diagnosis was difficult. He was given a warm bed, lots of food, and was given a safe, dark place to sleep for the night. When vet staff attended the next morning, he was much calmer, but a diagnosis was still pending. He's doing much better, and his friends on staff at the vet clinic are very happy for him. He's a beautiful dark tabby, and he just wants a family. On August 13, 2011, we received a telephone call indicating that Shredder's family had seen him on our website and was returning for him. When he met them and heard his real name, it was obvious that he recognized them and was happy to see them. He's now back with his family in Greenfield. We're glad you're home, Franky!

Parm and her siblings Cheddah, Mozza and Feta came to us on June 20, 2011 from the Bristol area where yet another unspayed stray had given birth to kittens. They had no one to care for them and were in danger of being euthanized. Who could possibly allow that to happen to such beautiful innocent babies? Parm and Feta are girls and Mozza and Cheddah are boys. They were very timid and didn't appear to have had much to do with humans, but were no problem at all to socialize. All had the pleasure of living in a wonderful foster home in Pembroke where they enjoyed their foster family immensely, and learned the true meaning of love and compassion. On July 18, Parm and Feta had the pleasure of going to live in a foster home in Brighton where they'll enjoy the company of two young kids who will go out of their way to make sure they have the best foster home possible. On August 13, 2011, Parm attended an adoption fair at the River Valley Arts celebration in Woodstock. There she met the lady who will give her a loving home for the rest of her life. Congratulations on your new home in Woodstock, Parm!

This is "Huckleberry." On June 28, 2011, three cats and 12 kittens were rescued from a barn near Hartland. They were enclosed in a shed and were hungry and thirsty. Most had earmites, fleas and worms. They appeared to be from three families. Huckleberry was one of Apricot's kittens (see above). He was born about June 15, 2011. There was some concern about their health upon their arrival, but they quickly became well with care and nutrition. They were too young to have their eyes open, but they're open and full of badness now! They have been fostered in three different homes.On August 13, 2011 Huck was adopted by a very nice lady who is originally from Bath but now lives in Beresford. She also adopted his siblings Mango and Noni (see below). Thanks for giving them a home where they can all stay together and remain a family.

Zinger came to us on July 7, 2011 from Ashland where she was a stray who had been dumped at a home. Her rescuers tried for two months before they were able to catch her. Thanks to the food they were putting out for her, she was relatively healthy, although she was thin, had earmites and fleas. She's a very affectionate cat who is only about one year old. On August 10, 2011, Zinger met a nice lady from Centreville and won her heart. They will now live happily ever after as best friends. Congratulations, Zinger!

Pinsent came to us on August 1, 2011 from Carlow. He had been found in a ditch and couldn't move or use his hind legs. He had passed no urine or stool in 48 hours, and was not eating well at all. Pinsent was examined and a defect on his spine was found. It was initially thought that the defect was a broken bone, but through investigation it was determined that it was actually an abscess. The abscess was treated, and he's well on his way to being fine and dandy. He eats like a horse, and is very active and vocal. He's a typical young kitten who is very happy, playful and energetic. He is perfectly white. On August 10, 2011 a young couple who had wanted a real cuddle kitten came to meet Pinsent and took him home to Woodstock where he'll live happily every after. Congratulations, Pinsent!

This is "Ajax." On September 7, 2010, a lady received a telephone call from tenants of a minihome who had moved out without proper notice. They informed her that they had left their cats behind in the unoccupied and unlocked home. Upon her arrival, she eventually found eleven cats. They had apparently been put out to survive on their own when the people left the province. It appears that the mother, Soya, who was only about a year old, has had two litters of kittens. The first litter consisted of three five-month old kittens, Dallas (female) and Ajax and Baldwin (males). All cats were healthy, although cold, hungry and terrified. Ajax and his family lived at the clinic until he was adopted on October 16, 2010. Sadly, he was returned on November 13, as was his friend Scorpio who was also adopted by the same people. They were very scared and confused, but once they knew they were safe and loved once again, they were fine. Ajax is a beautiful tabby who was born about the first of April, 2010. On August 9, 2011, a nice lady from Glassville arrived to take Ajax home with her where he'll live happily and become a new friend of their Lab dog who loves cats. Have a great life, Ajax! Rusti came to us on July 10, 2011 from a shelter where she had been dropped off. It appears she may have been hit by a car. Her chin had been ripped off, she had a laceration in her groin, her right hind leg was broken, and her right eye was injured. She was only about 14 weeks old - just a baby. Rusti was in poor shape. Her leg was splinted, and she received the best of medical care. She did her part by recovering very quickly, and her splint came off the week of August 1. She's very happy, playful and full of life. On August 8, 2011 a family came to take her home to Woodstock where she'll be a new friend for them and for their two cats. Congratulations, Rusti. Have a great life!

Magnet, "Marilyn" and "Mayhem" came to us when the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic arrived at work on June 24, 2011, and were greeted by a box of kittens on the doorstep - the results, no doubt, of yet another unspayed pet who was allowed to become pregnant, and now the kittens are unwanted. They were about five weeks old, already socialized and were exceptionally cute. All four kittens stayed at a foster home in Oakland where their family enjoyed their kitten antics and they learned what love and family was all about. Their sister, Mellow, had been adopted previously (see above). On August 6, 2011, Magnet, Marilyn and Mayhem all attended the Adoption Fair at Shur-Gain's Feeds 'n' Needs in Woodstock after Old Home Week. There they met a family with four children, and all three were given a permanent home. They now live in Hartland with their new family. Congratulations, girls!

These kittens were very boney, had fleas and bad upper respiratory infections. They were terrified, but with a little love, patience and cuddling were fine. They were fortunate to find a generous foster family in Perth-Andover. On August 6, 2011, Gouda and her friend Dilly (see below) attended the Adoption Fair at Shur-Gain Feeds 'n' Needs in Woodstock where they met their new family. They are both proud new family member of a nice couple in Woodstock. Congratulations, everyone!

Only a very few hours later, Joplin gave birth to six little kittens. She's grateful for the warm bed, food, and safe place for her and her family which consists of two boys and four girls. Stevie and her five siblings were born between 2 and 4 pm on May 25, 2011. They were fostered by a Vet Tech summer student and grew up to be beautiful little kittens. On July 29, 2011, Stevie began her life with her new family. While at Studio Sarah, she met a very nice couple who invited her to come live with them in Woodstock where she'll be the newest best friend for one other cat, Minoune.

Ronstadt and her five siblings were born between 2 and 4 pm on May 25, 2011. They were fostered by a Vet Tech summer student and grew up to be beautiful little kittens. On July 29, 2011, Ronstadt was adopted by a family in Greenfield where she'll enjoy the affection of their canine friend, Pepper. Congratulations, Ronnie!

Meet "Morrison." On May 26, 2011, while in the Debec area, Dr Monteith noticed a pregnant stray running loose. She picked her up, realizing that she needed help. Only a very few hours later, Joplin gave birth to six little kittens, one of whom was Morrison. She was grateful for the warm bed, food, and safe place for her and her family which consisted of two boys and four girls. Morrison and his five siblings were born between 2 and 4 pm on May 25, 2011. They were tiny little balls of fluff who looked forward to having great lives. They were fostered by a Vet Tech summer student and grew up to be beautiful little kittens. On July 25, 2011, Morrison was adopted by a very loving couple from Fredericton who works in Woodstock, so he'll be a traveling kitty who will spend every waking hour with his family. Stop in and visit him at Studio Sarah on Main Street in Woodstock!

Nicks and her five siblings were born between 2 and 4 pm on May 25, 2011. They were fostered by a Vet Tech summer student and grew up to be beautiful little kittens. On July 29, 2011, when the family of Benatar (see above) came to pick her up to take her home, they met Nicks, the last of the litter. They knew they couldn't leave her alone as the last kitten, so they took her home too. Thank you for giving these two sisters a great home.

This is "Mellow." When the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic arrived at work on June 24, 2011, they were greeted by a box of kittens on the doorstep - the results, no doubt, of yet another unspayed pet who was allowed to become pregnant, and now the kittens are unwanted. They were about five weeks old, already socialized and were exceptionally cute. They stayed at a foster home in Oakland where they learned all the social skills they'll ever need. On July 14, Mellow met a family with several young children and the attraction was mutual. Mellow now lives with this family in Somerville where she'll enjoy the life she's always wanted. Don't forget to send lots of pictures, Mellow! We'll miss you !

Angus came to us on June 27, 2011, from the Renous Highway area where a lady who was traveling far from any homes noticed him on the side of the road. He was starving, thin and not neutered. Only about a year old, Angus is a real lover and is very well socialized. He was probably dropped off in the unpopulated area of the Renous to make his own way, something he was unable to do on his own. When taken to a shelter, his rescuer was informed that he would have to be euthanized as they had no room. She could not see that happen, and brought him to us hoping for help. Angus stayed with us until . . . . . . July 14, 2011, when, unable to get him off her mind, she returned to make him part of her family. Angus now lives in Wapske with his saviour to whom he will display his undying gratitude for the rest of his life. Congratulations, Angus. You deserve the best, and you got it!

Mozza, and his siblings Cheddah, Parm and Feta came to us on June 20, 2011 from the Bristol area where yet another unspayed stray had given birth to kittens. They had no one to care for them and were in danger of being euthanized. Who could possibly allow that to happen to such beautiful innocent babies? Parm and Feta are girls and Mozza and Cheddah are boys. They were very timid and didn't appear to have had much to do with humans, but were no problem at all to socialize. All had the pleasure of living in a wonderful foster home in Pembroke where they enjoyed their foster family immensely, and learned the true meaning of love and compassion. On July 6, 2011, Mozza went to live with Loretta/Sasha (see above) as a foster kitten and . . . . . . by July 11, 2011, he had convinced everyone in the household that they could not possibly do without him in their lives! Renamed Moses, he was officially adopted. Congratulations to everyone! Way to go, Moses! Have a great life!

Loretta and her sister Lynn originally came to us on October 4, 2010. They were born about August 25, 2010. Loretta was adopted to a family in Aroostook, and Lynn was fostered there with her and was to be adopted also. Unfortunately, their young son developed medical issues due to cat dander, and the family had to give them up. Their family missed them greatly, but Loretta and Lynn settled in fine, and quickly made good friends with the other cats with whom they lived. Loretta eventually went to a foster home in Holmesville to see if she'd like to stay, and . . . . . . on July 4, 2011, she sent her mother to make her adoption official. Loretta, know known as Sasha, is very happy in her new home in Holmesville, and is looking forward to having a new baby brother soon. Congratulations!

This is "Kia." On July 24, 2010, a truck was seen dropping off a large number of cats on the Plymouth Road near Woodstock. Fortunately, some kind people realized what was happening and tried to catch as many of them as they could. All kittens were skinny, hungry, had bad eye infections, terrible fleas and so many earmites that their ear canals were fully closed off with flea dirt and they were unable to hear. Several lost an eye because the infections had progressed so far. One is totally blind. Some weighed as little as 1.4 pounds and ranged in age up to about six months, although you wouldn't know that from looking at the size of them. Kia was born about April 21, 2010, and had a bad upper respiratory infection. Her eyes retain small scars from the infection, but she is now very healthy, and she's an extremely happy and energetic little girl who loves to play. Her favourite place to play is in the litter box where she'll roll and wiggle! On June 30, 2011, Kia met a young boy and girl who chose her to come live with them forever, and also adopted her friend Burt (see above) to keep her company. They now live in Bristol where they'll be best friends with the two young children. Congratulations, Kia! You've finally achieved your dream!

Boogie came back to us on February 12, 2011. He originally came to DunRoamin' on July 12, 2010 when he was only about a month old, and had been found at the Carleton Co-Op in Florenceville with no one to look after him. He was only about three days old. Boogie had to be fed by syringe for the first month, but in order for him to learn to be a kitten, he needed to be taught by other kittens and cats, so he came to live with other DunRoamin' strays. Boogie is very loving and cuddly. Even at such a young age, he purred contentedly when picked up and patted. He likes to sit on your shoulder and will stay there as you walk around. Boogie was adopted on August 10, 2010, but came back. He was then fostered by a young lady and her family in Florenceville, and . . . . . . on June 30, 2011, he officially became a permanent family member. Congratulations, Boogie. You got it made!

Jazz and her sister Glitter came to us from the Grand Falls area on October 20, 2010 where they were rescued by an SPCA officer from a feral colony. The person who was looking after them had fallen ill and was no longer able to provide for them, so these two came to us for help. The were about four months old, and both had fleas and worms. Jazz was sick with an upper respiratory infection, but was treated and is now fine. They're both very social, and even though they were scared, they'd let you cuddle them, and Jazz quickly learned to love people, and boy, can she purr!! On May 15, 2011 Jazz went to be fostered by one of our best volunteers in Woodstock, and . . . . . . on June 18, she became an official family member. She'll now live permanently in Woodstock with her new family which includes a young boy and girl and one older cat, Mittens. Congratulations, Jazz! Don't forget to write !

Patsy and kittens Lynn and Loretta came to DunRoamin' on October 4, 2010. People had moved out of a home in the Oakland area and left them behind. Patsy has had kittens in the recent past, but Loretta and Lynn were too old to have been hers. Loretta is brown with gold, and Lynn is grey and white. Patsy was about two years old. She had fleas, and the babies had fleas and eye infections. All were treated. Patsy is a very laid-back, loving and curious cat who has only part of her tail, due probably to an earlier injury. On June 11, 2011, both Patsy and Lynn (see below) were adopted by a family in Carlow, NB, where they'll be part of a home which includes one dog, one other cat, and three kids. This is "Piper." She came to DunRoamin' on June 12, 2010 from the Woodstock area. She was an unwanted cat who had come to a home in Woodstock. The lady had tried to take her in, but Piper did not get along with her older cat, who was much too stressed by her and becoming more so daily. Piper is about two years old. She enjoys her privacy, but loves to sit on a human lap. She was spayed and is vaccinated also. On January 8, 2011, she was invited to be a foster kitty by a new DunRoamin' volunteer, and she was so happy. She's been waiting SO long! On June 11, 2011, Piper was officially welcomed as a permanent member of the household, where she'll live with three dogs, two cats and two humans whom she worships. Thanks, Terri-Lynn. We know she's right where she's supposed to be!

These two are named "Mac" and "Tosh." When FVC staff came to work early on Monday, October 18, 2010, they found a box on the doorstep and two kittens running in the yard. One was almost run over and the other was terrified and hard to catch. The box had no cover on it, so we don't know how many kittens there may have been, but a long search of the grounds and fields surrounding the clinic by DunRoamin' volunteers found no others. Mac, the tabby male and Tosh, the multi-coloured female were crawling with fleas and earmites to the point of extreme discomfort. They were hungry and so exhausted they could hardly keep their eyes open while being examined. They were about four months old. In early March they went to be fostered by a DunRoamin' volunteer . . . . . . and on June 11, 2011, they became permanent family members when they were adopted at the "Cat In The Hat" adoption fair. Congratulations!!

On May 3, 2011, "Oscar" came to DunRoamin' from the Upper Kent area where he had been found wandering as a stray, all by himself. He was emaciated, missing hair on some parts of his body and had never been neutered. Despite all these things, he was was friendly, and was very pleased to have the help he'd been looking for. Oscar was about four years old. He was treated for all his needs, and was fostered by the people who rescued him, until . . . . . . June 6, 2011, when he met the family with whom he'll spend the rest of his life. He's very grateful for the assistance he has received from his rescuers, from those who treated him and found him a home, and he's especially grateful for his new family. Best of luck, Oscar!

On June 14, 2010, "Julian" came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area. A very kind lady had moved into a home in April, and observed that Julian was hanging around looking for food and shelter. Perhaps he had lived there at one time? The lady and her daughter were very kindly feeding several strays in the area, but they noticed that, although Julian seemed to be getting better when supplied with nutrition and care, he still appeared to require medical attention. Since they already had two cats and were caring for several other strays, they asked for our help. Julian was found to be at least eight years old. He has several abscesses and scars, perhaps from fighting for his own survival. He's a beautiful boy who is kind, gentle and loving. He was tested for Feline AIDS, which turned out negative. He was also treated for worms and fleas, and was neutered. He'd like to thank the lady and her daughter for helping him, and also for making a large monetary donation to cover the costs of his medical requirements. He'd be very happy if you'd follow his progress in his new life. Julian would like to thank his Fredericton foster family for giving him all that love and letting him play with their dogs!! On October 19, 2010, Julian met a lady from Glassville. Even with more than 20 cats to choose from, he immediately won her heart, as he did with all his DunRoamin' volunteers. Julian now lives with his new love and her family which includes both dogs and a cat. Please don't forget to write, Julian! We'll all miss you !

This is "Juliana" who came to DunRoamin' on June 2, 2011 from the Florenceville area. Her owners had health issues, and could no longer care for her. Juliana is about ten years old, and is a Persian cat. She's very affectionate and cuddly, and she loves to just sit and cuddle. The very day she came she met a gentleman from Riverbank . . . . . . and the very next day, June 3, 2011, he returned to give her a family for the rest of her life. Thanks very much, Tim. Jerome is a light-gray four-year old boy who came from the Bristol area on May 23, 2011, where he had been living as a stray. A kind lady was trying to help many of the strays there, and when she noticed that Jerome had some injuries, she brought him for help. Jerome had many wounds on his head, most likely acquired through fighting for food and to stay alive. His injuries were treated and he was given appropriate medication. Unfortunately, Jerome was diagnosed with Feline AIDS. He must live in a home with no other cats, or with cats who already carry the virus. On May 31, 2011, Jerome was accepted by a wonderful lady in Houlton, ME who has several other cats with Feline AIDS. He will live there with his new friends where he will be very well loved and cared for as he deserves. Thanks very much, Lorraine. You're the best!!

The mother, Speckle, was about two years old. The three kittens appeared to be about five or six months old. They are all long-haired beauties who were extremely matted, which would hinder their ability to retain their body heat. With current cold temperatures, they really needed help. All were healthy, but had to be shaved to remove the mats and must remain indoors where they'll be warm. The three kittens were fostered by a nice lady in Perth-Andover in hopes of socializing them, since they were so scared. On May 30, 2011, we learned that this lady could not give them up. They have learned to trust her implicitly, and show their love and trust daily. Their new home is a far cry from the cold, lonely and wintry streets of Florenceville. Now they have a real family. We'd like to thank their new family for making such a great difference in their lives.

On December 14, 2010, "Screwge" was brought to DunRoamin' for help. He was about ten years old, and was found in the heating system at the Best Western in Woodstock where he had apparently gone to seek refuge after being injured. He was scared, cold and hungry, and had to be coaxed out of the vent. His rescuer immediately recognized his distress and brought him for help. Screwge was diagnosed with a massive infection in his right front leg, probably as a result of being bitten by a predator. He also had a lame back leg and a previous back injury which also would have given him much trouble and pain. It appears he's had quite an adventurous life prior to being rescued, and not in a good way. He was happy to recuperate in a warm, safe and soft bed where food was delivered upon his demand! He's become a very loving and laid-back little boy, and he loves to headbutt. On January 27, 2011, he went to be fostered by Marian in Bath. On May 29, 2011, Screwge decided he had waited long enough, and e-mailed this website. He has decided he'll be a permanent member of Marian's family which includes several rescued cats and dogs, including some ex-DunRoamin' ones. He says he's where he belongs, and he's not leaving!! Ever!!

On May 14, 2011, "Gulliver" came to DunRoamin' at last. He had been seen around an abandoned house in Riverbank, and a lady was leaving food for him on the open porch. It was cold there all winter, but he patiently awaited her to return each day, bringing food. He was very scared, but grateful for the nutrition. Gulliver was finally live-trapped and brought for help. He had fleas, worms and numerous infected injuries, probably from fighting to survive. He's about a year old. Gulliver was treated for all his wounds and parasites, and was vaccinated and neutered. He is feral, so will never be able to live with humans. While he was recuperating from his surgery, he was given a toasty warm bed and lots of food in a building near his saviour. He now recognizes that place as a safe haven, and hopefully he'll keep coming back so his saviour can make on ongoing assessment of his health and ensure he has a safe life. If not, he'll just keep sitting on his porch until she comes to him with more tasty morsels! He's very grateful for the substantial change in his lifestyle!

Gadget and her sister Gretel came from Bristol where a senior citizen had seen them, their mother and another kitten in the snow outside her apartment. The temperatures had been colder than -25*C and when you add in the wind chill, few creatures, if any, could survive outdoors on their own in that kind of cold. Even with the terribly cold temperatures, when the lady saw them in her back yard, she left her patio door open so they could come in where it was warm and get some food. Even as feral as they were, they recognized compassion and came slowly inside. When the senior citizen would get up to close the door, they'd run back outside. She finally trapped them in her apartment, and they came to us for help. On May 15, 2011, Gadget began her car journey to Ottawa, Ontario, where she'll be a new friend for an older cat as part of a military family. We thank the nurse and her military husband for choosing her and giving her such a caring family. We'd appreciate it if you'd send photos. We miss each and every one of them! Best wishes, Gadget!

This beautiful white lady is "Dahlia." On March 20, 2010, she came to a home in Muniac on the weekend and entered into their garage where she began to eat their dog's food. She was in rough shape, so immediately on Monday she was brought to the Clinic where she was examined and found to have several problems: she was very thin and had so many fleas that she had to be bathed four times in two days to help get rid of them. They'd made her extremely uncomfortable, and had eaten so much of her blood that she was anemic. She'd had earmites also, and has a hematoma in her right ear as a result of the damage done by the fleas and earmites. She was also brown with dirt. She was ravenous, and has been eating everything in sight, especially Temptations, which she loves more than anything!! Dahlia is approximately eight years old, has double paws on the front, and is very, very friendly. She's very affectionate, and is very grateful for her new life. During the first week of April, 2010, she went to live as a foster kitty. Thanks to Amanda for giving her a safe, warm loving place to recuperate. where she's doing exceptionally well, due to the love and companionship of her new foster mother. On October 12, 2010, Dahlia decided she'd like to spend all her time at this home, so she officially became a permanent resident! Congratulations, Dahlia! You got what you deserve - the very best!!

Kramer came to us on October 18, 2010 from the Centreville Road area where he had been hanging out around the four-lane highway, in constant danger from the vehicles. He had a badly-infected bite on his right hind ankle, earmites and evidence of parasites. It took Kramer's saviour six weeks to catch him, and he was skin and bones when she first saw him. He is much healthier now, thanks to all the food she left for him and now his injury will be treated. He's about 3 to 5 years old, and is very affectionate. He says if he'd known life could be this good, he'd have let himself be caught long ago! He just didn't know!! He's always anxious to be picked up, and he loves to be cuddled and have his ears scratched. On April 21, 2011, Kramer was chosen by a very nice lady who lives in Grafton. He fell in love with her the first time they met, and couldn't wait for her to return so he could convince her to take him home with her. He did that VERY well, because he's the newest family member! Congratulations, Kramer. Send us lots of family photos.

Donovan came to DunRoamin' from Woodstock on July 14, 2010. He was about a year and a half old, and he had numerous wounds all over his body. He'd been living as a stray for quite some time, and his wounds needed medical attention. Donovan is a perfect gentleman. He has obviously been with humans before, because he loves to be patted and cuddled. He will roll over on command if you'll scratch his belly. He's very affectionate and the first one to greet people at the door by standing on his hind legs to be picked up. He loved all the other cats he lived with, and got along very well with them. On March 24, 2011, Donovan was chosen by a DunRoamin' volunteer as her very first foster kitty. He loved his foster family and all their visitors, and enjoyed napping on the bed. Unfortunately, a family member was extremely allergic, but happily . . . . . . on April 18, 2011, another member of the family chose to give Donovan a home where he would be loved and his foster family could come visit him whenever they like. Donovan is now the newest family member for a very nice lady in Juniper where we know he'll be spoiled beyond his dreams! Have a great life, Donovan! Meet "ZuZu." On July 20, 2010, a stray cat brought her four tiny kittens to a home in Lower Brighton. The family that was living there helped her take care of them, but was moving into an apartment that would not allow them to have pets. What was a poor stray to do? The kittens were born about July 7, 2010. The mother eventually disappeared, and there was no place for the kittens to go. ZuZu, Bugsy, Molly and Tubby were fostered in Hartland by a very caring woman who already had several cats of her own, all rescued. These little ones were all extremely social and love to be picked up and cuddled. On June 4, 2011, ZuZu finally achieved his dream. He had met a young lady previously who had fallen in love with him, and she returned to take him home with her forever. ZuZu, aka Chester, now lives with Whitney and her family, where he'll enjoy the love of the family he's always wanted. Don't forget to write, ZuZu! We'll be waiting to hear about your wonderful new life!

Eden came to us on March 14, 2011 from the Stickney area where she had been abandoned at the home of a nice couple known for their compassion toward animals. She is probably related to Ellie May (see above) and Lilly-Beth, both former DunRoamin' strays. Eden had gotten out of a kennel during her transport to the Vet Clinic and had hidden, unbeknownst to anyone, in the motor of a truck. This truck had then driven to Connell where it was parked. Eden must have then gotten out of the truck and walked to the neighbour's home across the street where she was cared for for several days before she was recognized. She was then returned to the Clinic where she was spayed and treated for her upper respiratory infection. Eden had many parasites which were treated. She also had a bad upper respiratory infection as did the rest of her relatives. She's recovered and she's happy, loving and affectionate. On April 8, 2011, the people who had taken Eden in when she went to their home in Connell returned for her. She'll now live happily ever after with them. Congratulations, Eden. Have a great life!

Ellie May came to us on February 25, 2011 from the Stickney area where she had been dropped off at a home known to be compassionate to animals. Ellie May is probably related to Lilly-Beth who was abandoned there in October 2010. She was about six months old, and has a similar eye infection to Lilly-Beth's, and will most likely require that her eye be removed also. Ellie May is a happy kitten and is healthy thanks to the attention of the couple who cared for her after she was abandoned. We're hoping she does not have to her eye removed, and so far it looks like she'll be fine. Unfortunately, a test revealed that she is positive for Feline Leukemia, a disease that can be transmitted to other cats. Therefore, she can only live in a home with no other cats, or in a home that already has cats who have Feline Leukemia-positive cats. On April 7, 2011, Ellie May was very fortunate to be accepted by a very kind and generous animal lover in Houlton who has several cats who have tested positive for Feline Leukemia. She will live with them where she'll be loved, happy and have lots of friends to run and play with. We're so grateful!

Valentine came to us from the Woodstock area on January 26, 2011 where she had been hanging around outside an office for a week or so. No one could take her in, but one lady took up a collection and raised a large amount of money to cover her medical care and food while she stays with us for recuperation. Valentine had worms, fleas and earmites so bad that the earmite dirt in her ears completely sealed off her ears and she could hear nothing. She was also very cold and very hungry. She was only about six months old, and she was covered in burdocks that prevented her fur from keeping her warm the way it should in this terribly cold weather. The burdocks were removed, and she feels much more comfortable now, especially with a nice warm bed, plenty of food and lots of attention. And it's always nice when you can hear! Valentine is a real sweetheart who has obviously been around people. She talks constantly, follows people around, and she loves to be cuddled On April 4, 2011, Valentine was adopted by a young lady and her boyfriend who had fallen in love with her a couple of days earlier. She will live in Jacksonville where she'll be a friend for their other one-and-a-half year-old cat. Congratulations, Valentine! Have fun!

This is "Baker." In February, 2011, a stray cat came to a farm in Riverbank. He was very scared and hungry, and kind animal lovers ensured he had food available. They also wanted to ensure he was neutered and that his medical needs were addressed. Baker was live-trapped on March 31, 2011 and brought to DunRoamin' where several medical requirements were taken care of including neutering, earmite treatment and antibiotics to help with an injury he had sustained on his nose. Baker is extremely wild. He wants nothing to do with humans, other than accepting the food they might provide. On April 3, 2011, Baker was accepted as a feral cat by the people who had rescued him. He will most likely never live in a house, be cuddled or even touched, for that matter, but from this day forward he will have food, water, shelter and the love, admiration and respect of the family who rescued and now cares for him. He will live in a barn with several other ex-DunRoamin' feral cats with no worry of injury, loneliness, starvation or any other terrible fate ferals battle each day. DunRoamin' would like to thank this family for their compassion in helping yet another feral cat.

This is "Darla." On September 7, 2010, a lady received a phone call from tenants of a minihome in East Brighton, NB who had moved out without proper notice. They told her that they had left their cats behind in the unoccupied and unlocked home. She immediately went to the home where she found one adolescent cat and three babies. She then observed a mother dragging a fourth kitten toward the home and later found several more. They had apparently been put out to survive on their own. Eleven cats and kittens were located. It appears that the mother, Soya, who is only about a year old, has had two litters of kittens. The youngest litter contained two boys, Vader and Apollo Creed and four girls, Anna Molly, Echo, Cosette and Darla. They and their mother were generously fostered by some very strong pet lovers and DunRoamin' supporters in Perth-Andover. We're ever so grateful, Jordan.and Jennifer. On April 1, 2011, a young lady who attends university in Moncton came to DunRoamin' to find a friend who would like to live with her. She and Darla immediately bonded, so now Darla will live in Moncton with her new best friend until the end of the school year, at which time she'll return to Florenceville for the summer. In the meantime, Darla will also have the company of another ex-DunRoamin' stray, Baldwin, who was adopted in September 2010 by her room mate. Congratulations, Darla!

Amanda came to us from the Centreville area on September 2, 2010. She had been abandoned in an apartment when people had moved out, and she'd recently had kittens. Kind people searched for the kittens, but were unable to find them. Amanda had earmites, was thin and starving. She eagerly ate all she could get, and was very grateful. She's very affectionate and purrs upon seeing a human. She was very tiny for her age, but lots of nutritious food has remedied that. She is very loving and gets along well with all the other cats with whom she lived. On March 30, 2011, Amanda was chosen to live in Perth-Andover. There she will be a sister for another ex-DunRoamin' stray, Carleton (now "Wendell"), and will have the company and friendship of three young grandchildren. Congratulations, Amanda!

Jail and Bird came to DunRoamin' on October 25, 2010. They were rescued in Woodstock when an intoxicated person was taken to jail and the kittens along with him. Jail (male) and Bird (female) were only about seven weeks old. They had a very bad case of fleas and an upper respiratory tract infection which produced both eye and nasal discharge. They were very sick and had a hard time breathing. They were treated, and recovered just fine! They soon felt well enough to wrestle and play with each other, as well as chase toys around their kennel. On December 13, 2010, they were invited to spend Christmas with a foster family in Florenceville. Bird was adopted on December 22, 2010. Jail stayed with his foster family, then went to another foster home to see if he liked it there. Turns out he LOVED it, and they loved him too, so . . . . . . on March 24, 2011, his foster family became his permanent family. Jail now lives in Woodstock with his family which includes one other rescued cat. Congratulations, Jail!

Meet "Madge." On January 29, 2011, Madge was one of more than a dozen cats brought to be spayed or neutered. They had been dropped off at a horse barn in Windsor, and the owners of the barn were doing everything they possibly could for them, including ensuring they were fed, sheltered, spayed, neutered and healthy. Madge is about two years old and weighs only three pounds, indicating she has a growth abnormality. She has not been known to have been pregnant in that time, which may signal a problem, as well as her small size. She is timid but not feral, and was fortunate to have the people who cared for her. She was matted and her fur was covered with feces. She seems to be trusting of humans, although timid. Madge underwent several medical tests which showed no abnormalities other than that her spine has much less flexibility than most cats, so she doesn't move around as much or as easily. She needs a special home. On March 8, 2011, Madge was adopted by a lady from Woodstock. Madge took her favourite bed with her, and will enjoy a heated bed to help keep her comfortable. She's a beautiful little girl who especially loves to be brushed for at least ten minutes a day, and is feeling much less timid and more comfortable with humans. Darth came to a home in Centerville on November 22, 2010. He was cold and starving. The homeowner could not keep him at her home, but promised to find him a foster home. He came to us to await that home on November 25th, but it never appeared. Darth was probably born about April, 2009, and he's a big orange sweetheart. He's very quiet, gentle and laid back. He loves all people and all cats and kittens. He's happy to be safe and warm, and is grateful for his temporary home with DunRoamin'. He loves to sleep in his box in "The Cat-a-Combs." On February 28, 2011, we got an e-mail from a gentleman whose family was interested in meeting Darth. They were so enthusiastic about making him a family member that they arrived the very next day to take him home. Darth now lives in Grafton with two canine friends and two children. Darth is happy to be the best birthday present EVER for one of the kids. Congratulations, Darth! Please send lots of family photos!

This is "Noni." On June 28, 2011, three cats and 12 kittens were rescued from a barn near Hartland. They were enclosed in a shed and were hungry and thirsty. Most had earmites, fleas and worms. They appeared to be from three families. Noni was one of Apricot's kittens (see above). She was born about June 15, 2011. There was some concern about their health upon their arrival, but they quickly became well with lots of care and nutrition. They were too young to have their eyes open, but they're open and full of badness now! They have been fostered in three different homes. On August 13, 2011, Noni and her siblings Huckleberry and Mango (see above) were all chosen by a nice lady from Bath who now lives in Beresford. She's happy to be part of a family, and grateful that her family gets to stay together.

Smokey, Bubba, Blackie and Patches were dropped at a home in mid-October, 2010, in Moose Mountain, NB and have been cared for at that home since. As these people have seven cats of their own, they were unable to keep four additional kittens, but are fostering them until permanent homes can be found. Bubba, the only male, and his sisters Blackie, Patches and Smokey came to DunRoamin' on November 3, 2010. These four little kittens have been very well socialized, and they are very loving and affectionate little ones. They love to play, and are very content to sleep and play in your arms. Smokey was fortunate to live in several foster homes. On February 25, 2011, he met a family who had lost their cat. The young boy immediately fell in love with Smokey, and she was pleased to be able to offer him some comfort. Although she'll never replace their pet, she will be a loving and welcome addition to the family. Congratulations to all.

JT came to us on July 7, 2011 from the Grafton area where he was found on the side of the road. He was emaciated, cold, had a bobble head, and also had toxoplasmosis, a disease for which he required immediate medical attention. JT was born about May 26, 2011. JT, named because he was "Just There," stayed with a Vet Tech until he was well. As you can see from his photo which was taken a couple of weeks later, he improved greatly and is doing just fine with a little medication, love and attention.On September 6, 2011, JT was adopted by a lady in Florenceville. He'll now live happily ever after with his new family. Congratulations, JT! Please write often!.

Peabody was about 10 years old when he came to us on May 20, 2010 from the Perth-Andover area. He had been living as a stray in Perth-Andover for about a year. He was declawed, so he had belonged to someone at some point. He was unable to defend himself as a stray, so he came to us. Although he sometimes acts like a grumpy old man, he's a real sweetheart. As you can see from the photo, part of his left ear is missing. Peabody was a little timid when he first came to us, and tended to nip if he was scared, but that was because it was his only defensive mechanism with no claws, and he was definitely a little scared. Once he settled in, he became much more comfortable, and he talks incessantly, looking you right in the eye! He loves to be up high and he quickly found his favourite spot where he can survey his kingdom. He has endeared himself to a great number of our volunteers because he has such a unique personality. On February 5, 2011, Peabody went to live with his new family in Tinker where he'll find new high ground from which to survey his kingdom. Please send lots of photos, Peabody. LaBouche came to us on August 19, 2011 from Woodstock where she had been found lying on the road. She had serious facial trauma around her mouth, and her jaw was broken so that it moved up and down, but not in the way it was supposed to. She could only eat soft food for awhile, but quickly recuperated with lots of love and care.LaBouche is a beautiful little tabby kitten with large round eyes that gaze at you with trust. She loves to be picked up and will immediately start purring if you show her any love. She loves attention and cuddling.On October 29, 2011, while at the Howl-A-Ween Adoption Fair, a family fell in love with her. She'll now live in Summerfield with her new family which includes a young boy.

Pantene was found in the parking lot of a hairdresser in Woodstock on October 6, 2010. She was very hungry and needed food and shelter. She was taken in for the day, but when closing time came, no one could take her home to keep her safe or warm for the night. She was in danger of being put back out in the parking lot. Although we are more than filled to capacity, we couldn't let that happen and still sleep at night. It's much too dangerous and cold. In addition, she was in heat, and another night out could very easily have resulted in more unwanted strays who could quickly suffer injury, disease, and things too terrible to imagine. Pantene was only about six months old. She already has had a tail injury, and one quarter of her tail is missing. That must have hurt!! Pantene was treated for her medical needs and was spayed. She's a beautiful girl who loves people, and she is extremely affectionate. On January 25, 2011, Pantene met a family from Florenceville which includes two young boys. She'll now live on Maple Street as the only pet of this family. They've chosen the perfect friend, as she'll be the best companion they've ever had. Tobias is a neutered male stray who came to a home in Centreville, and he came to DunRoamin' on October 22, 2010. He has an old fracture of his left hind leg and was hungry, but had a good body condition. However, the end of his tail was injured and bloody and it was broken close to his body, leaving his tail paralyzed. He was probably born about August, 2009. Due to his previous hind leg injury, he always sits with his leg hanging down, as seen in the photo! Tobias underwent surgery to remove his tail. He purrs constantly, happy to be free of the pain. He's a cuddler, and very grateful to have love and care. Even when he plays, which he loves to do constantly, he never ever offers to put his claws out, even in fun. On January 27, 2011, a young man came to the Clinic. He had seen Tobias on this website and wanted to meet him. Tobias was his usual self, and of course won the young man over. When his carrier was brought into the room, he walked immediately into it with a "Okay, take me home!" expression. He will now live in Bristol with this man who has a nine-month old and a four-year old who will love him as he will love them. Congratulations!

LaRue came to DunRoamin' on July 13, 2011 from the Florenceville area. A woman had called about her saying she was very thin, walked funny and needed help. They had been feeding her dog food. As we were completely overwhelmed at this time, we asked if she, a friend, neighbour or relative could keep her safe until we had a spot for her. She refused. We could not just leave her there, so she stayed at a home with eleven dogs, not an ideal solution, but at least she had food, shelter and medical attention. She is friendly and affectionate, and appears to have some Siamese in her as displayed by her personality and Siamese-like features. LaRue was born about January 1, 2010 and was thin, had fleas and extremely bad earmites. They were so bad, she has become allergic, and she has probably had them her entire life and suffered that whole time. On December 6, 2011, we learned that LaRue would be a permanent member of her foster family. She now lives in Hartland with several other ex-DunRoamin' strays. Congratulations, LaRue! Enjoy your new family!

Elton and his friend Encore (see below) came to DunRoamin' on November 24, 2010 from the Stickney area. Elton is Lilly-Beth's brother, and had been abandoned along with her. He's about three and a half months old. He had an eye infection which was treated and is much better. Encore, only about three months old, had been heard crying in a nearby field, and was rescued by the same couple who cared for Elton and all the other cats dropped off there. They provide food and shelter, but were becoming overwhelmed. Elton has a great personality - just like Lilly-Beth's, as a matter of fact. He loves to cuddle, knead and purr. They lived with their friends Jazz, Maurie, Kia and Martin at the Clinic, where they played and slept together. On January 5, 2011, Elton and Encore were adopted into a home in Fielding where they'll be the only pets of a couple who will give them the life of which they could only dream before this day.
