This little kitten, "Cordelia," was only about five weeks old, and barely large enough to fit in your hand when she was found on the side of the road in Stickney all by herself on September 20, 2010. She was hungry, cold, and covered with fleas. She also had worms. The worst part is that she had a bad upper respiratory infection, so she couldn't see very well, had a hard time breathing and she couldn't smell at all. Because she couldn't smell food, she wouldn't eat on her own, so she had to be fed by syringe until she was well enough to feed herself. She was fostered by Lynn, a Vet Tech, because she needed such constant medical care. She has a very feisty personality, and if you set her on the floor, she takes off like a little wind-up toy! On December 25, 2010, Cordelia became part of a wonderful family in Woodstock where she was the best gift under the tree for a gentleman who has loved her since he met her. This is "Phyllis." We received a call on August 1, 2008 that a stray cat and her family were in danger of a coyote in close proximity. The kittens were 4-6 weeks old and very healthy. All were spayed or neutered, and have found loving permanent homes. On August 9, 2008, the mother of these six kittens was caught. Phyllis was timid, but liked to cuddle. She stayed at the Clinic until August 26, 2008, when she went to be fostered along with another mother and her seven kittens by a very generous and compassionate family in Perth-Andover. Although Phyllis is content to live with other cats, she's really a people person. She enjoys a toasty warm Snuggle Safe (heated bed), and loves to have her forehead rubbed. On April 17, 2010, Phyllis was very fortunate to get the opportunity to be a foster cat with a young couple in Fredericton who love cats. She will be a foster sister for another DunRoamin' stray, Esther. On December 12, 2010, it was learned that her foster family is moving to Toronto, and would like to take Phyllis with them as a permanent member of their family. What a wonderful Christmas present! This is "Tubby." On July 20, 2010, a stray cat brought her four tiny kittens to a home in Lower Brighton. The family there helped her take care of them, but they were moving into an apartment that would not allow them to have pets. What was a poor stray to do? The kittens were born about July 7, 2010, and were only a couple of weeks old. The mother eventually disappeared, and there was no place for the kittens to go. Bugsy (see above), ZuZu, Molly (see above), and Tubby were fostered in Hartland by a very caring woman who already had numerous cats of her own, all rescued. Tubby and his siblings are all extremely social and love to be picked up and cuddled. Bugsy and his sister Molly were the first to get homes. On December 11, 2010, Tubby, who had made an impression on a gentleman a couple of days previously, was excited to see him come back again with his family. Tubby now lives in Wicklow with his new family which includes a young daughter. Merry Christmas!

Crocket came to a home in Pole Hill near Hartland in the middle of November, 2010. He was freezing and starving. His rescuer is fostering him, but is unable to keep him. Crocket is a beautiful little boy who was born about the middle of August, 2010. He's very cute, cuddly and playful, now that he's safe, warm and fed. His greatest wish was to have a home for Christmas so he could see a real Christmas tree for the first time. On December 11, 2010, Crocket attended the DunRoamin' "Home For The Holidays" event, and guess what? Wishes do come true, especially at Christmas! Crocket was chosen by a lady from Bedell, where he will live with her other cat and two dogs. Merry Christmas, everyone! Especially you, Crocket! Enjoy your first Christmas tree!

Sookie was a daughter of Aretha, a feral cat, who came to us on August 25, 2010 from the Perth-Andover area. She and her three siblings were borderline feral and were named Tara, Talbot and Audrey. They went to two foster homes to see if they could be socialized so that they could live with humans. Talbot and Tara were already feral and couldn't be tamed, so they now live in a nice warm barn. Sookie and Audrey were able to be socialized. Sookie was fostered by Margo and Sean in Jacksonville, and though it took some time, she quickly learned to purr the moment she was picked up. She loves to snuggle and her favourite place to sit is on your chest. When you reach for her, her first instinct is still caution, but as soon as you pick her up, she purrs up a storm and cuddles in to stay as long as you'll let her. On December 11, 2010, Sookie met a kind person who wanted to give her a family for Christmas. Sookie now lives in Perth-Andover with her family which includes a Sheltie dog with whom she'll share the home. Merry Christmas to everyone!

Morticia and her brother Gomez came to DunRoamin' on October 28, 2010 from the Lakeville area. A stray had arrived in the neighbourhood and had kittens. Sadly, at least six of them had already been killed on the road. A compassionate person rescued these two from the same fate. Gomez and Morticia were only about four months old. They had really bad earmites and were exhausted from trying to survive. The weather had been cold, and they're only babies. Morticia was spayed and Gomez was neutered and they're happy to be safe, warm and fed. They're almost identical in their markings. The best way to tell them apart is that Morticia is long-haired, while Gomez has short fur. Morticia was fostered with her friend Glitter in Woodstock, NB. On December 11, 2010, Morticia was chosen by her foster family to become a permanent member, along with Thompson, another previous DunRoamin' stray. She now lives in Woodstock with her new family. Blackie, Bubba, Patches and Smokey were dropped at a home in mid-October, 2010, in Moose Mountain, NB and have been cared for at that home since. As these people had seven cats of their own, they were unable to keep four additional kittens, but fostered them until permanent homes could be found. Bubba, the only male, and his sisters Blackie, Patches and Smokey came to DunRoamin' on November 3, 2010. These four little kittens have been very well socialized, and they are very loving and affectionate little ones. They love to play, and are very content to sleep and play in your arms. On December 11, 2010, Blackie was ecstatic to learn he would have a new home for Christmas. He's heard about presents, but has never opened one himself, so he can't wait! Blackie will live in Woodstock with a very nice lady who has one other cat. Congratulations, Blackie! Merry Christmas!!

This is "Apollo Creed." On September 7, 2010, a lady received a phone call from tenants of a mini home in East Brighton, NB who had moved out without proper notice. They told her that they had left their cats behind in the unoccupied and unlocked home. She immediately went to the home where she found one adolescent cat and three babies. She then observed a mother dragging a fourth kitten toward the home and later found several more. They had apparently been put out to survive on their own. A total of eleven cats and kittens were located. It appears that the mother, named Soya, who is only about a year old, has had two litters of kittens. The youngest litter contained two boys, Vader and Apollo Creed and four girls, Anna Molly, Echo, Cosette, and Darla. They and their mother were generously fostered by some very strong pet lovers and DunRoamin' supporters in Perth-Andover. We're ever so grateful, Jorden and Jennifer. Thanks from all of u s. On December 9, 2010, Apollo was adopted by a lady who lives in Fredericton. Apollo will be her only pet, and the best company she'll ever have. Merry Christmas!

On June 10, 2010, "Mufasa" came to DunRoamin' from a shelter at which he had been left by his family. He became sick and didn't want to eat. He was diagnosed with a high temperature due to a stress-related glucose problem and had to be syringe-fed in order to ensure he got the nutrition he required in order to become healthy again. Even though he didn't feel very well, he still enjoyed a nice belly rub. He is about ten years old. With medical care and lots of lovin' Mufasa has become much more healthy. He's a real sweetheart who loves to cuddle and also to follow people around. He's a quiet and undemanding little boy who is happy to have human company. Mufasa has been diagnosed with Diabetes, so therefore must have a syringe of medicine each morning and evening. He also drinks a lot of water. On December 10, 2010, Mufasa went to live with Lynn in Connell where he'll receive the best care possible. He's very loving, and we'll all miss him. You'll have a great Christmas, Mufasa - maybe your first ever!!

On October 8, 2010 three ten-week old kittens came to DunRoamin'. "Rookie," Felon and Siren had been found on a dirt road by people walking in the woods near Mainstream. They were cold, scared, hungry and were covered with fleas and earmites. They were fostered by Pam in Hartland. Felon and Siren were adopted on October 16, 2010. Rookie went to a foster home in Fredericton with his friends Celine, Cimone and Serena who were also fostered there. As you can see, Rookie loves dogs, especially Maeby, another ex-DunRoamin' Stray. Thanks once again to Derek, Gillian, Maeby, Wrigley, Paulie and Tony for opening their home to our strays. On November 19, 2010, Rookie went to join his new family in Northampton, NB. He will live with a wonderful lady and her five-year old Old English Bulldog who would love a new friend. Congratulations to everyone. Send lots of family photos, Rookie!

Three little kittens were about six months old when they were dumped in the Beechwood area. No one was caring for them and they were cold and starving when they were brought to DunRoamin' on September 23, 2009. "Layla" was a little timid at first and would not come out when people were around, but she has learned that she is safe and cared for, and she's doing fine now. She's a little independent, but likes a good cuddle as well as the next kitty. Layla particularly likes to have her belly rubbed, and she'll purr like crazy once you do. On November 9, 2010, Layla was chosen along with her best friend Maisy (see above) to live with a very nice lady in Woodstock, where they'll be her only pets. It's been a long wait for both of them, but the best things are always worth waiting for. Congratulations to everyone. Please send us photos and updates on both Layla and Maisy. All our volunteers will miss them.

Toast came to us on October 20, 2010, from the Gregg Settlement area where he was rescued after crying outside a home for three days. He was starving and cold, but he's so much better now. He's a real heartbreaker, and he's very happy to be warm and safe. Toast is a cuddler and loves to talk. He was named "Toast" because when he arrived, he was in a Black & Decker toaster box. He's the most affectionate kitten - he'll be cuddling and sound asleep in your arms before you even know he's there! On October 31, 2010, Toast began his trek to Ottawa where he will be the only pet for a gentleman who lives there. Congratulations, Toast!

Georgia and "Lynnette" are two former DunRoamin' strays who were originally part of a feral colony in Benton. They came to DunRoamin' in July, 2010, and were adopted out shortly afterward. Georgia came back to us on July 26 and Lynnette came back on August 3, 2010. They are both beautiful and friendly cats who love each other and love people. They're very quiet and like to be in the same room with their family. They also love dogs and will do figure eights around their legs! Georgia and Lynnette are very much alike in both looks and personality. Georgia is a slightly deeper shade of orange, but they usually have to be side by side to tell the difference. On September 21, 2010, they went to stay in the best foster home they could ever dream of. Thanks so much to Connie and Ernest for giving them a loving foster family. This is "Lance." On August 17, 2010, five baby kittens were found in Beechwood. Their mother had apparently been run over, and they were all alone. They were not yet eating on their own, and needed help. Lance, Rich, Flame, Baby and Posh were born about July 26, 2010. They were cold, hungry and had very bad fleas. They had to be fed by syringe to keep them alive. This was done by our Canada Summer Jobs students Emily and Jerika, who took them home each night to ensure they got the care and attention they required. Then, we were very grateful to have a wonderful foster family from Brighton care for them until they were old enough to be adopted. We really appreciate your help, and can't thank you enough! They wouldn't be the kittens they are today without your love and care. Lance is the most energetic of the bunch, and don't let those angel eyes fool you! He's a cute little devil in disguise, and loves to play and wrestle with his friends!! On October 22, 2010, Lance met a lady at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic who decided she'd like to have him as part of her family. He now lives with his new family in Florenceville. Congratulations, Lance! Be a good boy!

Ivory came to the fenced-in yard of a lady in Bedell in search of food. The only source was an empty dog food can, but she did her best to get her face and paws into it to get anything that may have been left behind. Her hip bones were very evident, as she was starving. She was also slightly shy of humans. Thankfully, this particular human whose yard she came into has a heart of gold and helps strays whenever she possibly can. She fed her the very best tin of tuna in the house, and gave her refuge where she'd be warm and safe from dogs. She tried every available avenue to find her home, but met with no success. Ivory is not afraid of dogs, and is very kind and gentle with her saviour. Ivory came to DunRoamin' on September 20, 2010, where she was examined. She's about one and a half years old and has had kittens several months ago. She is now spayed. On October 20, 2010, Ivory met a lady from Woodstock who fell immediately in love with her, and why wouldn't she? Ivory is a beautiful little girl, and we're very happy she has such a loving home. Congratulations to you and your new family!

Dwhite was a stray found in Riverbank on the weekend of September 25, 2010. A family took him in for the weekend, but couldn't keep him. He came to us on September 27, 2010. Dwhite cat is about five months old, and weighs 6.3 pounds. He was filthy dirty and had fleas climbing all over him, which must have been extremely uncomfortable. He was treated for these, vaccinated and neutered. He is a very quiet little guy who lies happily in your arms gazing at your face when picked up. He wanted only to have a safe life where he'd be loved. On September 30, 2010, Dwhite went to be fostered at a home in Jacksonville where he'll enjoy the company of a dog and six other cats . . . . . . but on October 18, 2010, during a routine physical examination, it was learned that Dwhite has a fairly serious heart murmur. His soft-hearted foster mother immediately decided that he should stay with her permanently where he'd be sure to get the best care and love possible. Thanks, Janet!

This is "Baron." On July 24, 2010, a truck was seen dropping off a large number of cats on the Plymouth Road near Woodstock. Fortunately, some kind people realized what was happening and tried to catch as many of them as they could. All kittens were skinny, hungry, had bad eye infections, terrible fleas and earmites so badly that their ear canals were fully closed off with flea dirt and they could not hear. Several lost an eye because the infections had progressed so far. One is totally blind. Some weighed as little as 1.4 pounds and ranged in age up to about six months, although you wouldn't know that from looking at the size of them. Baron was one of the last to be found. These strays were accepted by DunRoamin' and their vet and volunteers immediately went to work warming, cleaning, medicating, feeding and caring for them. On October 16, 2010, Baron met a young couple from Summerfield who fell in love with him. This handsome boy will now live happily ever after with them. Congratulations on finally finding your forever home!

Demi is a three-year old multi-coloured cat who came from the Perth-Andover area where she was a stray. She was about three years old and had fleas and earmites. Her biggest medical problem, though, was a large abscess on her hip. This was cared for, and it healed well. Demi was already spayed when she arrived on July 8, 2010. Demi is a lovely little girl who is very friendly and likes having her ears scratched so much she'll purr forever while you're doing it! She loves kids, and will immediately run over and sit with them when they enter a room. On October 16, 2010, during the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair, Demi met a lady from Somerville with whom she decided to share her life. She will live with her, her dog, child, and her friend Capone (see below). Congratulations!

We're glad you got the family you deserve, Capone!

Tibby came to us on September 10, 2009 from Piercemont. She was a stray found there with two broken hind legs. Her tibia bone had been broken in both legs. She had been trying to get around by walking on the knees of her hind legs. That must have been excruciatingly painful. Tibby was very scared, as well she should be, but she quickly learned that she was being helped, and became more trusting day by day. What a terrible thing to happen to a little baby. She underwent surgery which successfully repaired both legs, and you'd never know she had any problem at all now! She was fostered by Margo, who gave her plenty of chin rubs, and she also loved the company of her friend Deuce, who is one of Margo's permanent cats. Tibby got her casts off on October 9 and walked around on her front legs only with her hind legs over her head at first! Tibby was born about May, 2009. On October 16, 2010, Tibby attended the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair. There she met a kind lady who decided she should come live with her. Congratulations on your wonderful new home in Glassville. Posh and her friend Mallory (see above) now live happily with her, and we hope they'll send new family photos.

Meet "Dallas." On September 7, 2010, a lady received a telephone call from tenants of a minihome in Brighton who had moved out without proper notice. They told her that they had left their cats behind in the unlocked home. Upon her arrival, she eventually found eleven cats. They had apparently been put out to survive on their own. Dallas was one of these cats. She's only about five months old and was cold, wet and scared. Dallas quickly became much better once she was safe, warm and loved by the many volunteers at DunRoamin'. On October 16, 2010, Dallas was present at the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair. There she met a couple from Pembroke who have been strong supporters of all animals, and of DunRoamin' strays in particular. They very quickly found that they could not resist Dallas's charms. And because they know that all cats need cat friends, they also adopted Dallas's friend Jesabelle. Dallas now has a new name, Monkey, and Jesabelle is now called Molly. New names for a new life! Thanks, Kevin and Kelly, for giving them a loving home, and for teaching them to play ping pong!

Jesabelle came to DunRoamin' from an area near Hartland on June 14, 2010. She was scared, and very, very tiny. At six months of age, she weighed only 2 pounds. She should weigh approximately 5 - 7 pounds at her age. Her ears were badly damaged by earmites, and it was possible that she may have required surgery to remove the tips of them. However, they healed well thanks to great veterinary skills, and she's now fine. Jesabelle is a beautiful short-haired white kitten with a splotch of grey on her head. Although she was a little scared, it took very little encouragement for her to roll over for a belly rub. She needs to eat lots of nutritious food to put some weight back on. She loves to jump up on the window ledge to play through the glass with the other cats,. She went from a sickly, tiny timid little kitten to a strong, confident little girl in no time. And she's so beautiful!! On October 16, 2010, Jes was present at the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair where she caught the attention of a couple from Pembroke. Jes, now renamed Molly, lives very happily with them and her friend Dallas (Monkey - see above) who was also adopted. Thank you again!! Send lots of photos!

This is "Flame." On August 17, 2010, five baby kittens were found in Beechwood. Their mother had apparently been run over, and they were all alone. They were not yet eating on their own, and needed help. Flame, Rich, Lance, Baby and Posh were born about July 26, 2010. They were cold, hungry and had very bad fleas. They had to be fed by syringe to keep them alive. This was done by our Canada Summer Jobs students Emily and Jerika, who took them home each night to ensure they got the care and attention they required. Then, we were very grateful to have a wonderful foster family from Brighton care for them until they were old enough to be adopted. We really appreciate your help, and can't thank you enough! They wouldn't be the kittens they are today without your love and care. On October 16, 2010, Flame attended the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair where he met a wonderful family from Jacksonville. Flame will now live with three kids, three dogs, four cats, and his friends Jersey and Plymouth, who were also adopted (see below). Thanks to this pet-loving family. We know you love them! Fortunately, some people realized what was happening and tried to catch as many of them as they could. All kittens were skinny, hungry, had bad eye infections, terrible fleas and earmites so bad that their ear canals were fully closed off with flea dirt, and they could not hear. Most have scared eyes because the infections had progressed so far. One is totally blind. Some weighed as little as 1.4 pounds and ranged in age up to about six months, although you wouldn't know that from the size of them. These strays were immediately accepted by DunRoamin' and their vet and volunteers went to work warming, cleaning, medicating, feeding and caring for them. Jersey was the luckiest of them all. She has no lasting effects from her infections, and her eyes and vision are fine, yet another attestation to the skills of her medical caretakers. All were fostered by Dr Monteith until they were well enough to leave her 24/7 vet care.On October 16, 2010, during the Adoption Fair, Jersey was chosen by a family in Jacksonville who had met her on several previous occasions. She is very grateful to be part of this family with her friend Flame (see above) and her brother Plymouth (see below). We'd love to hear how she's doing. Please send photos.

He's very grateful to have a loving home with three kids to give him lots of love and hugs, and three dogs and four cat friends also! Congratulations, Plymouth!! Good work! Meet "Corkie." She was a four-year-old stray who had three kittens, Alfalfa, Spankie and Rascal. They were born on May 23, 2010 and came to us on May 25th. A kind lady gave Corkie food, but because she was scared of her children, could not provide a comfortable home for her and didn't want her to have to raise her kittens outdoors. Corkie is so named because she has a corkscrew tail. She had fleas, but was treated. She is a very nice cat who liked to snuggle and watch TV while her babies were sleeping. She obviously has been a house pet, but perhaps was no longer wanted when she became pregnant. Corkie is now spayed. On October 16, 2010, Corkie attended the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair where she met a very nice cat-loving lady from Hartland. Corkie loved her too, and now lives happily with her, her husband, and their three other cats. Thank you so much for giving her a loving home!!

Conway came to DunRoamin' on October 4, 2010 from the Hartland area. The SPCA had rescued a dog chained to a tree, but the dog wouldn't leave unless his kitten came with him. The dog went to a shelter and Conway came to us because of his injury. Conway is only about six weeks old. His main medical problem is that his lower lip is missing as a result of an unknown trauma. Conway underwent surgery on October 6, 2010 in an attempt to repair it so that he can eat properly. This was successful. Regardless of his injury, Conway is very loving and playful. He purrs constantly, and when he plays, his ears go straight out sideways just like Yoda's! He's a beautiful little boy. On October 8, 2010, he and his friends Loretta and Lynn went to be fostered by Margo & Sean. On October 13, 2010, it was learned that Conway was going to go to a permanent home. He now lives in Woodstock with his newest best friend. Congratulations, Conway! You're a very lucky boy!

Audrey, her mom Aretha (see above) and her siblings came to us on August 25, 2010 from the Perth-Andover area. Aretha had four kittens who were borderline feral named Tara, Sookie, Talbot and Audrey. They went to two foster homes to see if they can be socialized so that they can live with humans. Talbot and Tara were already feral and couldn't be tamed, so they now live in a nice warm barn. Sookie and Audrey were able to be socialized. Audrey went to live in a foster home in Perth-Andover where she quickly learned that she actually liked to be held, petted and loved by humans. On October 12, 2010, Audrey officially became a member of her foster family. She now lives happily in Perth-Andover. Congratulations to all!

Meet "Survivor." On Friday, August 6, 2010, a beautiful young black cat was brought for help. He received his name because that's exactly what he is. Survivor came from the Red Bridge area where he was found on the side of a road very close to death. There were no houses in the vicinity. He was emaciated, dehydrated, his blood sugar registered at 1 (it should have been at least 4), his body temperature was 32*, although the ambient air temperature was 30*. He had an eye and nose infection also. He's about a year old, and he was in such desperate shape that his veterinarian wondered if he could possibly survive. He was given an intravenous sugar drip, warmed up and given all possible medical care. Survivor had already been neutered, so he must have belonged to someone in his short life. He also likes dogs. On August 8, 2010, we were pleased to announce that Survivor had gained a full pound in 48 hours, because as soon as he was able, he did nothing but eat! He's a very grateful little boy who loves and is loved by all other cats with whom he lives. On October 8, 2010, a lady came to meet our strays, thinking she might like to have a black cat. Although we have many whom she could meet, once she met Survivor, she stopped looking - she had no choice! As so often happens with the best matches, Survivor chose her, and he now lives in Woodstock. We hope you'll send us photos of you and your new family!

This is "Ogilvie." On September 16, 2010, some people working at the Agriculture Centre in Wicklow observed a small kitten who had been hanging around the area. She was on the grass, with hawks circling over her head. It was time to do something. Ogilvie was scooped up and brought to DunRoamin'. The gentleman who brought her was very kind and caring, and two of the ladies had sent a generous cash donation along with her to help cover some of her costs. Thanks, Suzanne & Nancy! Ogilvie was examined and found to have fleas, was skinny, and had scrapes on her nose and the right side of her eye, perhaps from being blown over by transports near her on the highway? She's about three and a half months old, and she hasn't stopped purring and/or eating since she arrived! She's very quiet, loving and affectionate. Thanks to all the kind people who have gone out of their way to ensure she has a chance at a loving home and a good life. On September 20, 2010, Ogilvie was adopted into a family in Riverbank where she'll live with her humans and three other new cat siblings. Congratulations!

Several lost an eye because the infections had progressed so far. One is totally blind. Some weighed as little as 1.4 pounds and ranged in age up to about six months, although you wouldn't know that from looking at the size of them. Slugger was the last to be found, and was cold and covered with slugs. These strays were accepted by DunRoamin' and their vet and volunteers immediately went to work warming, cleaning, medicating, feeding and caring for them. Dr Monteith took all of "The Dirty Dozen" home to ensure they had 24/7 vet care for as long as they needed it. On September 10, 2010, Slugger, one of the last to have been found, was the first to be adopted. He's very healthy, strong and active now that he's had the love and care he required. Slugger now lives in Riverbank with a family which contains three other cats and a black Lab. Congratulations, Slugger. We'll honk when we drive by! Please bring us a photo of you in your new home.

Meet "Baldwin." On September 7, 2010, a lady received a telephone call from tenants of a minihome who had moved out without proper notice. They informed her that they had left their cats in the unoccupied and unlocked home. The lady immediately went to the home where she eventually found a total of eleven cats and kittens: a mother with six three-day old kittens, an adult male and three five-month old adolescents. They had been abandoned, several of them left outside. When the door to the minihome was left open for them, the cats immediately ran back inside for warmth, food and safety. It appears that the mother, Soya, who is only about a year old, has had two litters of kittens. The first litter consisted of three five-month old kittens, Dallas (female) and Ajax and Baldwin (males). Baldwin is a silver tabby. The suspected father, Capone, is a beautiful boy who is also about one year old. The mom and six babies were fostered by a family in Perth-Andover. Thank you SO very much. On September 10, 2010, Baldwin was chosen as the newest friend of a university student. They will live together in Moncton, NB. Congratulations, Baldwin!

Patton was about two years old when he came to us from the Centreville area on September 2, 2010. He and several other pets were abandoned in a house when people moved away. No one was caring for them. Patton is a beautiful boy. He purrs constantly, and is grateful to be with humans again. He had fleas and earmites but was in generally good health, thanks to the man who had made sure he got lots of food and water during this hot weather. On September 3, 2010, the kind man who had rescued him returned to give him a permanent home. This man routinely helps stray animals as much as he possibly can, and we're grateful to him for all those he has helped, especially Patton. He'll have the family he deserves, now!

Meet "Cuddy." On June 1, 2009, a mother and four little kittens were rescued from an overpopulated home. The mother was named Cuddy and she was about one or two years old. She had severe ear mites, ropey intestines and was very, very frightened. The four male kittens were named Cameron, Chase, Foreman and House. All are a soft buff orange in colour, and are hard to tell apart! Of the four kittens, two have normal tails, and two have bob tails. They were only about four or five weeks old, and had ear mites, hair loss of varying degrees, and red skin. They were treated for ringworm, and are fine now. On September 3, 2010, all five cats were officially adopted by the very kind and generous lady who has been fostering them since they arrived. They live very happily in Florenceville with her and their adopted foster brothers and sisters. DunRoamin' would like to thank this lady for taking them in and giving them a large and caring family. They deserve it!

China and her friend Tac came back to us on August 17, 2010. In June, 2008, China had originally been found living in a woodshed in Perth-Andover with her mother. Both Tac and China were adopted to a home in Florenceville on December 17, 2008 and lived there very happily. Unfortunately, a new family member was allergic, so they came back to us hoping for a new family. Both China and Tac are amazingly affectionate cats. China was born about May 20, 2008. It is easy to see they have been well loved and cared for. They'd like to stay together if possible, because they've always been family.On August 31, 2010, both China and Tac were ecstatic to learn that they'd been invited to live permanently with a family in Riverbank. This family has four young boys, the youngest of who is 6 weeks. They'll have a great life growing up together!

This is "Ducky." On June 21, 2010, a mom and her five little kittens from the Woodstock area were accepted by DunRoamin'. The mother, Elsie, was a stray, but as she had no one to care for her and had never been spayed, she soon produced kittens, and they needed homes. They were named Spike, Littlefoot, Ducky, Sarah and Petri, after the characters from the move The Land before Time. They were born about the middle of May, 2010. Ducky's siblings all found homes, but she stayed behind with her friends with whom she played and slept. She was waiting for the right person. On August 28, 2010, the young lady who adopted Rose (see above) decided that Rose should have company while she was in class, and generously adopted Ducky so they'd each have company when she wasn't at home. We're glad they have you and each other!

Sushi came from The Ark Animal Sanctuary in Houlton, Maine on August 26, 2010. She was one of three pregnant cats in their care, and they had approximately 11 baby kittens already, as well as numerous more on the way. Sushi was about two years old, and is a beautiful Siamese-type cat. She's very friendly and loving. Sushi was spayed, and . . . . . . on August 27, 2010, she was accepted into a home in Waterville, NB, where she'll be a new friend for Stan, another ex-DunRoamin' stray. Congratulations !!

Thompson and his siblings Oprah and Queen Latifah were found on the road in Greenfield on July 22, 2010, in danger of being struck by moving vehicles. At least two others were seen, and kind neighbours tried to catch them to offer them safety. They were about ten weeks old. All kittens had very bad fleas, were thin and hungry. They're all affectionate, and will roll over and turn themselves upside down and knead with all four paws if you'll rub their bellies. Thompson is by far the most outgoing of the three, and he has an amazing personality. He simply loves people, and there's nothing more to say about it!! On August 24, 2010, Thompson met a newlywed couple, and he will now be one of the symbols of their love, as he is a wedding gift from the bride to the groom. Thompson will join this family of two humans, two budgies and one other cat. Congratulations, Thompson. You're the perfect symbol of love!

Meet "Alfalfa." He and his siblings Spankie and Rascal were born on May 23, 2010 to a stray cat named Corkie. A kind lady gave Corkie food, but could not provide a comfortable home for her and didn't want her to have to raise her kittens outdoors, so they came to us. Alfalfa was the most playful of all the little ones, even though his eyes weren't even open yet. He grew up quick and beautiful, with a very loving personality. He's very affectionate, and loves to play. He adores other cats, especially kittens, and will play and play and play, then cuddle up with them to go to sleep. On August 19, 2010, Alfalfa went to live in Woodstock with his new family. We're all very happy for you, Alfalfa. We'll miss you very much. Please send family photos for the website!

Riker came to DunRoamin' on April 20, 2010 from the Juniper area. He was not peeing in his litterbox, so obviously something was wrong. Any behaviour outside the norm almost always signals a medical problem, so Riker was brought for help. It was discovered that Riker is prone to developing crystals in his urine, so therefore must eat only one kind of food, so he should be an only cat, or live with another cat who only eats Urinary food. Riker is long-haired, and was born about April, 2009. Since he's been eating Urinary food, he's never once missed the litterbox, and he's perfectly healthy. He loves to sit in windows and view the great outdoors. He has a personality of his very own! On August 18, 2010, Riker went to live in Moncton with his newest best friend who is a student. Congratulations on your new home, Riker!

Eevee came from the Perth-Andover area on July 21, 2010. She had been hanging around a dairy bar searching for food for quite some time, and had no one to care for her. She was about two years old, weighed only 2.1 lb, had an abrasion under her left eye, and many, many earmites. In addition to this, her intestines were thick and sore as a result of extreme parasitism. Eevee is a beautiful little girl who loves people and is very grateful to have food and a safe place to live. Even though she hung around a dairy bar where you might think she would get lots of food, she was very tiny, and very hungry. She's happy to have plenty of healthy, nutritious food. On August 7,2010, Eevee met a nice couple who are very strong supporters of DunRoamin'. They attended our Adoption Fair, as they do all our events. They met Eevee, and couldn't get her out of their minds. On August 10, 2011 they returned to take Eevee home with them. She will now live in Bath, NB with Ruth and Glenn and their other eight rescued cats. We cannot express our gratitude to these two wonderful people. DunRoamin' is very grateful to have you as part of our team.

This is "Michelle." She was one of three little three-week old female kittens found in a box in Maple Ridge, NB. They came to DunRoamin' on May 28, 2010 and were named Beyonce, Michelle and Kelly after the members of the band Destiny's Child. On August 7, 2010 while at the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair, she met her new family, and went to a wonderful home in Peel, NB where she'll enjoy the joys and wonders of being a permanent family member.

Queen Latifah was found on the road in Greenfield on July 22, 2010 with three other siblings who were in danger of being struck by vehicles. Thorne was found in a field in Pembroke and was brought for help on July 22, 2010. She was about two and a half months old. Her left eye was swollen, she had earmites, and was starving. When she first came to us, it was hard to get a look at her face, because it was usually stuck in a bowl of food!! She ate as though she believed once that food was gone, there'd be no more. She loves to be cuddled, and purrs very loudly for such a tiny little girl. Thorne and her friend Queen Latifa (see above) were both adopted on August 7, 2010 at the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair. They will both go to a new home in Florenceville, NB where they'll live with their new family which includes two young boys and one other cat.

Liesel was one of two little kittens who came to DunRoamin' on June 19, 2010 from the Bristol area where they had been found all alone in a culvert the day before, screaming at the top of their little lungs. They wee only about six weeks old. Liesel was filthy, dehydrated, was very thin, and had infected eyes which were treated. Liesel is white with a small patch of grey on her head (which has disappeared as she's grown!) She and her sister stayed in a foster home in Woodstock until they were socialized and secure. On July 12,2010, they came back to the Clinic where they lived in "The Nursery" with 16 other kittens until . . . . . . August 17,2010, when Liesel attended the Adoption Fair where she met a family who asked her to join them. She now lives with five dogs, six other cats, and her humans. Congratulations, Liesel. Best wishes from all of us.

This is "Sarah." On June 21, 2010, a mom and her five little kittens from the Woodstock area were accepted by DunRoamin. The mother was a stray, but as she had no one to care for her and had never been spayed, she soon produced kittens, and they now need homes. Sarah was one of them. They were born about the middle of May, 2010. Sarah was a beautiful little black kitten who was very affectionate and loved to play. On August 7, 2010, Sarah attended the Adoption Fair where she was chosen to live in the same family as her friend Liesel (see above). Congratulations to all!

This is "Marigold." First we found her sister Flower in a flower bed in Bedell, NB, on the evening of June 22, 2010. She was all alone, scared, cold and screaming at the top of her lungs for help. On June 24, 2010, four of Flower's siblings were found in a nearby location by the family dog. They were only about three weeks old. There were two boys, Timothy and Chicory, and two girls, Marigold and Rose. Marigold was fortunate to be taken in by a loving foster family in Florenceville. On August 7, 2010, she attended the Adoption Fair where she met her new family. Marigold now lives in Stickney with her new family which also includes her old friend Fanny (see above) who was also adopted today! Congratulations!

Meet "Spike." On June 21, 2010, a mom and her five little kittens from the Woodstock area were accepted by DunRoamin'. The mother was a stray, but as she had no one to care for her and had never been spayed, she soon produced kittens, and they now need homes. Two are black, one is grey, one is white and one is black and white. Spike was the only male. They were born about the middle of May, 2010. On August 7, 2010, Spike attended the Adoption Fair, where he met his newest friend. His friend Fredrica (see below) was also chosen to be part of their family, and they now live in Grafton with two other cats and the human part of their family!

Fredrica came to DunRoamin' on June 21, 2010 from the Florenceville area where she had been found in the middle of Jim Davis Drive, in serious danger of being run over by a car. A kind lady stopped and picked her up to ensure she would be safe and brought her for help. She was only about eight weeks old. Fredrica appeared to be healthy. Fortunately, she was accepted into the same foster home as Liesel and Fanny so she'd have lots of company her own size, as well as older foster brothers and sisters, and lots of love from the human foster family, too. On July 12, 2010, she came back to the Clinic where she lived in The Nursery with 17 other baby kittens. On August 7, 2010, Fredrica attended the Adoption Fair, where she was adopted by a very nice lady in Grafton. Her friend Spike (see above) was also adopted, so she won't be at all lonely, and she'll have two other new cat friends, too! Congratulations, Fredrica!!

On December 30, 2009, "Reign" came to DunRoamin'. She appeared to be a Ragamuffin cat with beautiful long grey-and-white fur and was between three and five years of age. She had come to a home in the Woodstock area and was cold, hungry, injured and in pain. She was looking for help, and the lady to whose home she came would not stop until she found it for her. Thank you so much. Reign was examined and found to have fleas, earmites and worms. The worst part was that she had several serious injuries to her abdomen. Some were old and scarred over, but many were new and open wounds, including a large one in her groin. They appeared to be the result of canine teeth. Reign was initially scared, but once she realized she was safe, warm, fed, and would be cared for, she began to purr. Her injuries were monitored for infections and cleaned each day, and she was put on antibiotics and painkillers. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a feline disease that cannot be cured, but only treated. Reign is happy and healthy for now, and she's not an outdoor cat, and does not want to go outside ever again. On March 1, 2010, Reign went to live with Margo in Jacksonville. Thanks to Margo and Shawn for giving her the foster home and love she's been wishing for On August 7, 2010, it was officially declared that Reign would have a new family in Woodstock, NB. She will also have a new brother, Riley (see below). Congratulations, Reign!!

This is "Timothy." First we found his sister Flower in a flower bed in Bedell, NB, on the evening of June 22, 2010. There were two boys, Timothy and Chicory, and two girls, Marigold and Rose. They're all beautiful little kittens who love people. and had no family of their own to care for them. On August 7, 2010, both Timothy and his friend Boogie (see above) were adopted by a young girl and her family from Bath, NB. We're very pleased to know that both Boog and Timothy will have such a wonderful home. Congratulations, everyone. Send us some photos!

Meet "Beyonce." Three little three-week old female kittens were found in a box in Maple Ridge, NB. They came to DunRoamin' on May 28, 2010 and were named Beyonce, Michelle and Kelly after the members of the band Destiny's Child. As they had no mother, Corkie, another of our strays, was kind enough to adopt them and looked after them as though they were her own. They stayed with Corkie and her own three kittens (who were about two weeks younger) at the Brooks Family Foster Home. Beyonce was the most developed of all. She played a lot and was the first to learn how to escape from her kennel! Thanks again to Karen and Jerika for giving them a safe and loving foster home to start their lives. On August 7, 2010, Beyonce attended the Adoption Fair where she awaited the new man in her life. She will now live with this man and his family, where she'll rule the roost in her new home. Meet "Flower." She was only about three weeks old when she was found in a flower bed in Bedell, NB on the evening of June 22, 2010. She was all alone, scared, cold and screaming at the top of her lungs for help. Flower is a lovely little kitten who purrs, kneads, cuddles and eats like the best of them! She is very happy to have people care for her, and is looking forward to being given a home with a family who will care for her forever. On June 24, 2010, four of Flower's siblings were found in a nearby location by the family dog. There are two boys, Timothy and Chicory, and two girls, Marigold and Rose. On August 5, 2010, Flower was adopted by a family in Tilley, where she'll be the new best friend of a young girl. Congratulations, Flower. We'll miss you!

This is "Chopper." He came to us on August 15, 2009 from Bath where he was a stray who had been dropped off at a farm. Unfortunately, not being familiar with farm vehicles, he was run over by a hay chopper in a field. His rescuers saw this happen, and tried to find where he had run off to, no doubt powered by nothing more than sheer fear, pain and adrenaline. Chopper was located the next day hiding in a shed, and was immediately brought for medical help. The first thing he did was eat two full cans of wet food! Chopper is a beautiful boy who loves people, and was obviously someone's cat before being abandoned. His injuries included a broken left pelvis, broken and dislocated right ankle, and both his left and right pelvis were dislocated from his spine. Dr Monteith performed surgeries to repair these injuries, and he was put on pain medications with a soft warm bed, lots of food, and lots of attention. In other words, he's SOOOOO much better than he was when he first came! On December 17, 2009, Chopper met Annette who is a Reiki Master in Florenceville. Chopper spent the Christmas holidays with her and her family, and she's very anxious to help him with his injury using her Reiki skills. Chopper recognized her abilities immediately and relaxed visibly, purring and kneading. He is looking forward to healing much quicker with her love and assistance. On August 4, 2010, we learned that Chopper has made himself such a beloved member of his foster home that he has been officially declared a permanent member! He loves his family, both human and four-legged, and we're very grateful to know that he's with such loving, caring and generous people. Congratulations, Chopper! Way to go, Big Guy!!

This three-year old mother is "Corona," and she had been pregnant and abandoned one year ago in the Hartland area. People had taken her in, fed and sheltered her, and found homes for her kittens. On January 4, 2010, Corona was brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic because she was pregnant again, and having a very difficult labour. The only way for her to survive was with a Cesarean Section. As the costs of this were prohibitive to her owners, euthanasia became an option. As she was young and healthy, and her kittens still had a chance, she was surrendered to DunRoamin', and a C-Section was immediately conducted. Corona gave birth to six little babies on the evening of January 4, 2010. All have since found homes. Corona is a beautiful orange and white long-haired beauty. She did not enjoy living with upwards of a dozen other cats, but was happiest with one, better yet, none! On July 23, 2010, Corona was adopted by our DunRoamin' summer student who fell in love, as did Corona. She's very happy to be an only cat, and has become the best cuddler and purrer in the place! Congratulations to Corona and her new mother!

This is "Rascal." Corkie and her three kittens, Alfalfa, Spankie and Rascal came to DunRoamin' on May 25, 2010. Alfalfa is the only male. They were born on May 23, 2010. A kind lady gave Corkie food, but because she was scared of her children, could not provide a comfortable home for her and didn't want her to have to raise her kittens outdoors. She obviously had been a house pet, but perhaps was no longer wanted when she became pregnant. All four were very healthy and stayed at the Brooks Foster Home where they learned love, security and socialization. Rascal is very cuddly and is definitely a momma's girl, and even looks like her! Rascal is the only kitten with a full-length tail. The other two little ones had short, corkscrew-like tails, just like their mom! On July 21, 2010, Rascal met a lady from Avondale who invited her to join her family. Rascal will miss her siblings, but is very grateful to be given a family who will love and care for her forever. Dodge came to DunRoamin' on July 12, 2010, after having been found in a ditch. He is eating everything in sight, and is a very rambunctious little boy. He loves to play, and is eager to have a safe, warm dry home where he'll be loved. He's about three months old. Dodge is very curious, and loves to explore. He likes people and other cats, and blended in very well with all the others with whom he lived at the Clinic. He especially loved Jebus, with whom he'd play and wrestle for hours! On July 19, 2010, Dodge was adopted by a lady from Newbridge where he'll be an only pet. Take care, Dodge! Have a wonderful life!

Meet "Bronson." He had been dropped off at a shelter but had stopped eating for about a week. As a result, he had turned yellow, and was not thriving. He had a fever and a very poor prognosis. He came to the Clinic for help during the last week of May. On May 31, 2010, he was accepted by DunRoamin' in order to get him the assistance he needed to get better. He was not quite a year old, and has beautiful long fur, and the cutest face you'll ever see, with large bright eyes! Bronson is a very picky eater, but loves his Temptations. He had to be fed with a syringe several times a day in order to ensure he got the nutrition his body required. He loves to cuddle, too. He's come a long way. He's still a bit picky with his food, but he's healthy. On July 16, 2010, Bronson was chosen by a lady who lives in Halifax to come and live with her. To make sure he was never lonely when she was at work, she also adopted his friend Spankie (see below). Congratulations, Bronson!

Three kittens, "Spankie," Alfalfa and Rascal came to DunRoamin' on May 25, 2010. They were born on May 23, 2010 to a stray cat. A kind lady gave their mother food, but because the mother was scared of her children, could not provide a comfortable home for her and didn't want her to have to raise her kittens outdoors. Spankie is a very cute little girl who loves to cuddle and play with her siblings and the other kittens in the Nursery. On July 17, 2010, Spankie was chosen by a nice lady from Halifax to live with her. She also adopted Bronson (see above) so that she'd always have feline companionship while she was at work. Congratulations to all!

Meet "Littlefoot." On June 21, 2010, a mom and her five little kittens from the Woodstock area were accepted by DunRoamin'. The mother, Elsie, was a stray, but as she had no one to care for her and had never been spayed, she soon produced kittens, and they now need homes. Two are black, one is grey, one is white and one is black and white. Spike is the only male. The others are, Ducky, Sarah and Petri. They were born about the middle of May, 2010. They were fortunate enough to be fostered in a home in Hartland with several adult cats to teach them the ropes. On July 15, 2010, Littlefoot was adopted by a family in Somerville. She'll be the fourth cat for the family, and is looking forward to a whole new life!

This is "Kelly." Three little three-week old female kittens were found in a box in Maple Ridge, NB. On July 6, 2010, Kelly met a family from Florenceville who already have two former DunRoamin' cats and one former DunRoamin' dog. They invited Kelly and her friend Titan (see below) to come live with them, where they'll have the best life ever! Thank you!!

Titan was found in the middle of the road in Esdraelon, NB. There were no houses in the area, and no mother to care for him. His rescuer took him home, realizing he needed help. Titan was very scared, and ran under a woodpile from which the gentleman had a hard time extricating him. He finally enticed him out with food, and brought him for help. At some previous time, Titan had sustained a traumatic amputation to his right front leg just below his elbow, and it was badly infected. As a matter of fact, it was chock full of maggots. Titan was also underweight. Titan's leg was attended to which included removing the maggots, cleaning the wound, removing dead tissue, and packing the wound with sugar to help it heal. In the photo, he has a rubber protection over the part of his leg which remains. His leg was amputated once he was big and strong enough. He was about ten weeks old, and is long-haired and beautiful. He purrs very easily, and he loves to cuddle. He also runs and plays with the best of them, like he doesn't know what "disability" means! On July 5, 2010, Titan met a couple and their young daughter from Florenceville who have already given homes to three ex-DunRoamin' strays. They invited Titan and his friend Kelly (see above) to join their family, and he's very excited to do just that! Thanks very much to this family for all they do to help our friends!

Scratchy was rescued by the SPCA from Jacksonville, NB where he'd been a stray since early spring. He'd been doing okay, but the person who had been watching over him noticed that he had sores all over his body and asked for help for him. Scratchy had several sores on his body, and an open sore near his ear. He's about three years old. Scratchy had never been neutered, but he is now. He's a very friendly and affectionate boy, and we all love him. With medical care and lots of lovin', Scratchy became more healthy, but was diagnosed with FIV, a disease which is contagious to other cats. He'd either have to live in a home without other cats, or in a home that has only FIV-positive cats. He's doing very well at getting better, and he's a beautiful boy. Cats can live long and healthy lives with this disease, as Scratchy plans to do. On June 15, 2010, Scratchy went to live in Houlton, ME with Lorraine and her family of FIV-positive cats. Once again, we're very grateful to Lorraine for giving another FIV cat a home where he'll be loved and well cared for.

Meet "Flicker." He and his siblings Flack, Flossie and Flung were found near the Mount Pleasant Feed Lot on October 5, 2009, when they were spotted by a lady who drives that road frequently. They had no one to look after them. Two were male and two were female, and they were only about ten weeks old. They were covered with fleas, but were used to people as they love to purr and cuddle. It appears they were dropped there to try to survive on their own. These four little sweethearts were healthy after having been treated for worms and fleas. They were also vaccinated, spayed or neutered. When you talk to them, all four start to purr up a storm immediately, and they love to be cuddled! On December 7, 2009, Flack was adopted into a home in Woodstock. On December 30, Flossie & Flung got permanent homes. Flicker waited patiently for his turn and . . . . . . on January 16, 2010, he got his wish! He was adopted into a wonderful family in Woodstock where he will be the new best friend of three young girls. In addition, his friend Dixie got to go with him (see below), so when the girls aren't around, he'll still have someone to cuddle with! Thanks to this family for giving them both homes. On May 6, 2010, a gentleman left his camp in the Johnville, NB area to go to the store. Upon his return, he noticed a cardboard box in the middle of his driveway. Inside were five tiny kittens. One of them had already passed away. The gentleman immediately brought them to DunRoamin' for help. Had he not, the remaining four would have also died. No mother was present. "John", "Paul," "George" (all males) and "Ringo" (female) were only about three weeks old. The boys are all orange and white in colour. Ringo is black and white, and the black spots on her back remind one of a Dalmatian. All four kittens were dehydrated, cold, starving, and needed to pee very badly. At this age, they cannot go to the bathroom unless stimulated by their mother, or by a human who knows how. All four were quickly warmed up, fed and cared for. All four had to be fed by syringe every few hours and stimulated to go the bathroom until they were able to do both on their own. Dr Monteith and several of the Vet Techs and students took turns taking them home for a few days at a time to ensure they were healthy and got the nourishment and care they needed. On May 28, 2010, they went to be fostered by the Hull Family in Woodstock. Thanks very much for all the love and socialization! On June 12, 2010, the Beatles attended the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair and all found homes. We'd like to thank their new families. "Ringo" will live with a wonderful family in Plaster Rock where she'll have twelve other feline friends, including Ava. This home was not a surprise for her, as she's known for several days; "John" will live in Woodstock with a great lady and her 11-year-old dog who will love him also. He'll also have an older cat friend nearby; "George" and "Paul" will live in Woodstock with several other pets (including ex-DunRoamin' strays Glen, C. Tigger, Tallie and Hattie, as well as their newest feline friend Nyx.) The Beatles kittens are very "Glad All Over" that so many people have "Come Together" to work so hard to save their lives and find them loving homes. To all these people and to their new families they say "PS: I Love You."

Guthrie came to us on May 20, 2010 from the Perth-Andover area. He had severe earmites and a large sore behind his ear from scratching at them so much and so hard. It's been treated, and it's getting much better. A lady had been feeding him, and had tried to return him to the original owner who would not take him. Guthrie was exhausted and very hungry. He was about two years old, and loves to snuggle. He's very friendly and sits in the doorway looking up, waiting for someone to come hug him. At first he was quite timid and wasn't sure of people, but after being here for a while he realized that it was the best place he could possibly be, other than in his own permanent home, which was all he'd ever wished for. On June 12, 2010, Guthrie was present at the Adoption Fair held by DunRoamin'. There he met a very nice couple from Florenceville who chose him immediately from a large number of his feline friends. Guthrie is now the proud new member of this family which also includes a dog. Congratulations to everyone!

They were scared and confused at first, but with a little love soon became themselves again - playful, warm and loving little creatures who love to be held and cuddled. They lived with 14 other cats and loved them all. They were very easy to locate in the group if you listened carefully. Floss and Flung would be the ones purring the loudest! On June 12, 2010, Flossie and Flung were both present at the Adoption Fair when they met a nice couple from Riverbank. They are very grateful for a home where they'll be loved forever, and they're also grateful that they can stay together. They've never been separated since they were kittens, and they never want to be! Thanks to their new family for giving them a loving home.

On June 4, 2010, "Tyke" came to us from the Bath area where he had been found all alone. He had no one. He was about ten weeks old, but weighed less than two pounds. He was thin, had fleas and earmites, and was very hungry. Tyke was given his own kennel, his own bed, his own bowls of wet and dry food, his own toys and has shown his gratitude with his own more-than-abundant personality. He's a very affectionate kitten who starts yelling to be picked up as soon as he sees a human. Once he's picked up, he purrs and cuddles, then purrs and cuddles some more. He's very playful. On June 11, 2010, he met a lady from Centreville who chose to adopt him right away. He'll be a friend for KC, who was also invited to be part of the family. KC loves kittens, and they'll be best friends. Congratulations to everyone!

These two little guys are "Jaspurr" and "Purrcy." On October 2, 2009, a lady was taking a walk in the woods in Aroostook, NB, when she came upon four tiny kittens. Two had already passed away. These two who remained were very cold, hungry and one was very lethargic. Had they not been found, they would very quickly have suffered the same fate as their siblings. They were born approximately on September 10, 2009. Two DunRoamin' volunteers quickly came to the rescue, and with advice from Dr Monteith, were able to warm them up to a point where they could receive food. They were examined by Dr Monteith who kept them with her for two days to ensure they would survive. They were then cared for by two DunRoamin' volunteers, who fed them every four hours with a syringe. Purrcy and Jaspurr quickly flourished. They're real cuddle cats, and love other cats. They'd like to thank the lady who rescued them, and all the people who already have, and who will have, a part in the future in helping them have a good and safe life. On January 11, 2010, we learned that Jaspurr's and Purrcy's foster family wished to make them permanent members. Congratulations to all! Jaspurr and Purrcy now live in Red Rapids with their two humans and feline siblings. You'll have to get new dreams now, guys, 'cause your old dream is now a reality!

GC was rescued from a dumpster in Woodstock, NB on January 15, 2010. Had he not been, he wouldn't have lived much longer. GC appears to be about five years old, although it's hard to tell because of his body condition. He could be several years younger or older. He was emaciated, had fleas and earmites, and was severely dehydrated. Both his eyes were infected, and all his teeth were either broken or infected, and had to be removed to give him some relief from the pain. Both front legs had numerous pus-filled wounds, perhaps from frostbite. He was not neutered. GC was immediately given warm fluids and blankets to increase his body temperature. He began eating and drinking as much as he could possibly get into him, and was so grateful for the help that he purred with relief. He was put on pain medications, antibiotics and fluids to help him recover. He slowly got a little stronger day by day, but he's been diagnosed with FIV, a contagious feline disease. He'll have to live in a home with no other cats, or a home that already has an FIV-Positive cat. On March 11, 2010, GC received the news he'd been hoping for. His recovery had progressed very well, and he'd put on weight (perhaps due to the huge influx of Temptations that kept appearing next to his kennel!) He loves people and purrs as soon as he sees someone. He's very grateful to be healthy, and now that he's been given a family in Houlton with several other FIV-positive cats, he'll be safe, loved and well cared for. He'd like to thank Lorraine for giving him a home, and we all second that!

This is "Woodsie," so named because she was found in the woods. She was about six or seven months old, and had been living in the woods in Greenfield all by herself. When some children got off the school bus, she'd come out to greet them, but a pittbull lived there, and it wasn't safe for her. She came to us on April 19, 2010. Woodsie was brought to DunRoamin' along with a donation to help pay for her care. She was starving and exhausted, but is now happy, healthy and spayed. She's very friendly and cuddly, but she eats as though she's never had food in her life, and she's very happy to be warm. Her constant purr proves that! On May 17, 2010, Woodsie met a gentleman from Glassville. He and his wife were very happy to give Woodsie, who loved them right away, a home and family. She now lives happily with this couple. Congratulations, Woodsie! Have a wonderful life!

Meet "F.I.B." On the morning of October 13, 2009, the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic arrived at work to find a Coke carton at the end of the driveway. Thankfully, they thought to go back and look inside rather than just assume it was garbage someone had thrown on the side of the road. Inside was a tiny little girl with a very bad eye infection. She was all by herself. Her tail had been broken at some point in her very short life of only about six weeks. Named F.I.B. (Found In Box), she also had earmites, fleas, and was very cold and hungry. She was fed and cared for, and has shown herself to be very affectionate and loving. She turns herself upside down and purrs when someone pays her some attention. Her eye infection cleared up quickly thanks to just a little bit of medication. She was fostered by Pam, Boo, Char, Scamp, Ben, Sutty and Rachel. She misses her best friend Ruffles. On March 22, 2010, she decided that she didn't want to be a foster cat anymore. She believed that she deserved a permanent home, and demanded that she have one NOW! Her foster mother agreed, and FIB now lives permanently with the family whom she loves. Her next goal is to teach them all how to climb up the handles of the kitchen drawers to get to the counter!! Congratulations, Fibbles!

This beautiful little girl is "Valerie." She's a beautiful little tortie cat who is approximately one year old. She lived in a feral colony in the Lakeville area, and was part of a Spay/Neuter initiative on January 16, 2010. Upon examining her, Dr Drost observed that she was blind in one eye, and it was causing her pain which would only get worse in the future. She also had an upper respiratory infection, and she has no tail. Valerie spent the weekend with lots of food and warmth, and the required surgery took place on January 18th. With only one eye, she would have a hard time surviving in a colony. She's very quiet and affectionate. Val would like to thank the family who has been caring for her and her colony. Without them, she and her friends would have had an extremely hard time surviving. Val would also like to thank Marian for giving her a foster home since April 23, where she has learned what love, safety and companionship are all about. On May 11, 2010, we learned that Val is now officially part of the permanent family unit. She sleeps with her human every night and purrs her heart out. She also climbs curtains so she can see out the window! We're glad she finally found her place in the world. Thanks, Marian!

This is "Bailey." On January 4, 2009, a three-year old cat, Corona, was brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic because she was pregnant again and was having a very difficult labour this time. As she was young and healthy otherwise, Corona was surrendered to DunRoamin' and the procedure was conducted. Corona gave birth to six little babies on the evening of January 4, 2009. Bailey was one of them. She was cared for by Dr Monteith who took her and her family home with her to ensure they would all be healthy, which they all eventually became. On April 5, 2010, Bailey met a very nice lady from Centreville who invited her to come and live with her and be her best friend. Bailey will miss her siblings, but is very happy to be chosen to have her very own permanent family where she will be safe and loved.

On January 10, 2010, "Ambrose" came to a home in the Centreville area. He was about a year old, very cold and hungry, but the most obvious stress for him was the fact that his left hind leg appeared to have been put on backwards. Ambrose was brought for help. His leg had been broken at some point in the past, and had healed backwards, as it had never been put back in its original position. He also had earmites, worms and fleas. Despite all this, he purred and was very happy to be fussed over. He was grateful to be warm, safe and have a full belly. Ambrose underwent surgery to repair his leg and did very well. On January 21, 2010, he went to live as a foster kitty with Annette and her family, along with Chopper and Eve. On May 5, 2010, Ambrose had the pin removed from his leg and was certified fit for full duty! His leg is great, and he's just waiting to go to his furever home!! On May 6, 2010, his new mother came to pick him up to take him home where he will live in Woodstock with his new family. He's a beautiful boy who will bring nothing but smiles to his new home. KC was a former DunRoamin' stray who originally came to us from Woodstock on September 19, 2009, where he was abandoned when his owners moved away. He was adopted by a family in Peel on December 15, 2009. Sadly, the lady was unable to keep KC, although she loves him dearly and will miss him. On May 13, 2010, KC returned to us where he'll stay and be well cared for and loved until we find him a permanent home. KC is a beautiful boy who is almost two years old. He loves other cats, especially kittens, whom he will bathe and sleep with. KC is very quiet and gentle, a very loving little boy. On June 11, 2010, KC met a nice lady from Centreville who fell in love with him. Since KC loves kittens, she also adopted Tyke (see below) to keep him company. Congratulations, KC!

Meet "Miller." On January 4, 2009, three-year old Corona was brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic because she was pregnant again, and having a very difficult labour this time. The only way for her to survive was with a Cesarean Section. Euthanasia became a consideration due to the costs of the surgery and the care the kittens would require should they survive. As Corona was young and healthy otherwise, she was surrendered to DunRoamin' and the procedure was conducted. On the evening of January 4, 2009. cute little Miller and his five siblings were welcomed into the world. They stayed with Dr Monteith to ensure they were healthy until April 5, 2010, when they returned to the Clinic to be spayed and neutered. Miller was the last of his litter to be chosen, although he is probably the most cuddly, loving and outgoing kitten of the bunch. He stayed at the Clinic with his mother until . . . . . . April 24, 2010, when a lady stopped in to take him to meet her mom in Kincardine. It apparently was love at first sight, because she called a half hour later saying that Miller definitely had a home! Miller will live with Missy, Sassy and Sarah in a home that is every bit as wonderful as he deserves! Congratulations, everyone! We'd like to thank this strong DunRoamin' supporter for adopting another needful stray. We're all very fortunate to have you with us!!

April 16, 2010, when she met a lady from Northampton with whom she fell in love, and vice versa. Kahlua will be an only pet, and although she'll miss having her brother Miller to play with, she's very grateful to have a human of her own to love for the rest of her life! Congratulations to both!

Meet "Boone" and "Bambino." Boone and Bambino were two of them. Corona was cared for by Dr Monteith who took her and her kittens home with her to ensure they would all be healthy, which they all eventually became. On April 5, 2010, they returned to the Clinic to be spayed and neutered, and stayed there until . . . . . . April 9, 2010, when both Boone and Bambino were chosen by a nice couple from Kincardine to be part of their family which also includes young children, a 13-year old cat, and a cat-loving Saint Bernard dog! Boone and Bambino are very happy to stay together, and very grateful to have a safe, permanent home and a loving family. Thanks to their new family for giving these wonderful things to them.

Romeow is a stray who was picked up by an SPCA officer in the Hartland area on March 10, 2010. He had been seen prowling the area for about two weeks, and was in rough shape. He was thin, hungry, his canine teeth were fractured and his incisors were missing. He had earmites which made him very uncomfortable, and he had healing animal bite wounds as well as frostbite wounds on all four paws. He had a huge open wound on his right hind leg which was raw and bleeding. He was about two years old, and was not neutered. He was quite obviously in pain from all his injuries. Romeow was treated for his medical problems. He spent most of the time recovering in his soft warm bed. He's a beautiful boy who was grateful to be safe, warm and fed. After a week of love and care, Romeow was doing very well. He ate like a little piggy, as if he wasn't sure there'd be any more, and he put on weight and was soon feeling much better. He's much more outgoing, now that he knows that he's safe, warm and has people who care about him. On April 1, 2010, some people came to the Clinic after having seen Romeow's photo in the "We're All DunRoamin'" article that was written about him. They had recognized him, and he recognized them. We're happy to report that Romeow, whose original name had been Reggie, is now back home in Hartland with his family where he belongs. Good luck, Romeow.

Hawkeye came to us on February 19, 2010. He had originally been a DunRoamin' stray who came to us on September 22, 2008 when a box of kittens with upper respiratory infections was delivered to a local shelter. They were due to be euthanized because of this, but an SPCA officer who was present took them in and Dr Monteith cared for them. All were quickly and easily treated, and Hawkeye went to a home in Juniper. Unfortunately, his family became unhappy with him, and he was returned to us. Hawkeye was examined and found to be in excellent physical condition. He is neutered and vaccinated also. He is a beautiful pewter/gray colour with white, and is long-haired. He was born about the middle of July 2008 and has a scar on his right eye, but it doesn't affect his vision. He loves to be picked up and cuddled, and if you sit in the rocking chair, he's the first one on your lap. On March 19, 2010, Hawkeye, now known as Toby, was adopted by the best family possible. He will live in Bath with Glenn & Ruth and the rest of their feline family, which includes several other ex-DunRoamin' strays. He loves picking a toy out of the toy basket to play with, and he's very happy. We're all grateful to know he'll have the most love and care he could possibly ever dream of.

Lucious came to us from Bath, NB on November 27, 2008,. He was about four or five months old. He's a beautiful little boy, and he was already neutered. His family had to give him up due to medical considerations, so he came to us to try to find a new home. Lucious was very healthy, sociable and loving. He was fostered by Dr Monteith, along with several other strays she has taken in. He loves other cats almost as well as he loves people! He dreamed of having a permanent home of his very own, and wished only that this one dream could come true. On March 18, 2010, that dream finally did come true. Lucious is officially a permanent member of Dr Monteith's family. He loves her, and she loves him! What more could he ever want? Congratulations, Lucious!

Sprawl is about two years old, and he came to a feral colony of cats in the Bath area looking for food, shelter and protection from the elements and predators. The people who care for the colony noticed that he was injured, and that he was not at all feral. They brought him for help. He was diagnosed with fleas, earmites, an aural hematoma on one ear, a chin injury and numerous abscesses, probably from fighting to stay alive. He would have been in pain from his numerous injuries and not comfortable at all. Sprawl was treated for his injuries and sutures were removed from his ear on December 18, 2009. Sprawl is not an outdoor cat. He is very loving, and wishes only to be safe and warm. He is now healthy. He's a beautiful little boy who loves people and would like a safe and permanent home. On October 3, 2010, we learned that Sprawl will be a permanent member of his foster family. Congratulations, Big Guy!

On June 3, 2009, "Minnie," Cooper, and Austin May came to DunRoamin' from the Stickney area. They were born outside around April, 2009, and were finally caught in June. All the kittens had earmites and were dehydrated, and one kitten had diarrhea, but all that was quickly remedied. They were originally quite timid, but came along very well. They were tested for Feline Leukemia and passed with flying colours. Minnie and her sister Austin were both very vocal. They'd look you right in the eye and meow loudly at you. Then, they'd purr and cuddle into your arms the minute you picked them up! On November 21, 2009, a young man from Florenceville requested the opportunity to foster Minnie. They fell in love, but Chris will be going to college this fall. Would Minnie ever see him again?? On February 25, 2010, we learned that Minnie had found a way to be near Chris. She ingratiated herself into this family and will never leave! It was the perfect plan! Minnie was adopted into the home of Chris's sister in Riverbank, NB where she'll be loved forever and will still get to spend time with her favourite guy! Thanks to both Chris and his sister for loving her. Way to go, Minnie!! Send us family pictures!

Cashmere was about one and a half years old when she came to us on April 7, 2008, from Woodstock where she had lived with seven other cats, all of whom were spayed or neutered. Their owner could no longer keep them in his apartment. Cashmere had earmites, which were treated, and was otherwise healthy. She's a beautiful little girl who is friendly and affectionate. Cashmere especially loves all the attention she can get! She has a very different "meoooow" which announces her presence at all times! She also has a very unique personality that will keep you guessing and laughing at the same time! She's a very special cat, and she had been waiting longer than anyone for that special person who will recognize her individuality. Her only wish was for a loving home with a family of her very own. On February 24, 2010, her wish finally came true. Cashmere was welcomed into a home in Rosedale where she will live with three other cats, a diabetic dog, and a human who will love her for the beautiful girl that she is. Congratulations, Cashmere! We'll miss you!

This is "Weldon." He's a beautiful orange two-year old tom who came from the Bath area on February 5, 2010. He was found as a very hungry, exhausted, cold stray. When he was examined, it was learned he had parasites and a toe injury on one of his HUGE double paws on the front. His earmites have caused him great pain and discomfort, but he was treated for them, and they quickly got much better. Weldon is a quiet boy, but was slightly unsure of his surroundings. He watched everything carefully, and would growl quietly if he was not quite comfortable with what was going on, but it was only to let you know he was unsure. He's never made an aggressive move at all. He quickly got used to being safely indoors with lots of heat, food and a comfy bed. He got along with all the other cats with whom he lived, and was happy to be safe and sound. On February 19, 2010 he met a lady, her dog Molly (a former DunRoamin' stray) and their friend Ace, a beautiful white cat. Ace had recently lost his cat friend Flaire and was lonely, so Weldon went to keep all three of them company. He now lives near Knowlesville with his new family. He'd like to thank everyone involved in orchestrating such a happy ending for him.

This is "Chequing." On the early morning of September 26, 2008, the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic came to work to find two boxes on their doorstep. One was cardboard and the other was a milk carton. The opening of the milk carton had been covered over, but the mother cat had clawed her way through it. She was located around the side of the building, and although she was safe, she was very scared and stressed. Two of the kittens were huddled on top of the box, very cold. Hopefully they had not been there all night, because it was a typically cold fall night. Chequing was only about a year old. She lived in the basement of the Clinic with about 25 other cats with whom she got along well. If one of the young ones got out of line, she was the first to set them straight! She is a wonderful cat, and she's waited very patiently for a new home. On February 18, 2010, her wait ended. A gentleman who had previously adopted his dog Morley from DunRoamin' in March, 2008 visited the Clinic. He and Morley went to visit the cats, and Chequing made sure she was the only one they noticed! Chequing will live happily ever after with Dan and Morley in Fredericton. It was a long wait, but the best things are well worth it! Congratulations!

Wander, a short-haired tabby, came to us on February 11, 2010 from Kincardine, NB. She is about one or two years old, and had come to a house in poor physical condition. Wander had a tail injury, earmites, chin acne, and a bad abscess on her right hind leg. She was already spayed, and was very friendly. Wander's leg was lanced, drained and treated. She was put on antibiotics and pain medications to help her recover. In the meantime, she was fostered by her saviours who already care for many strays as well as their own permanent cats. Wander is a beautiful little girl who will fit easily and comfortably into any home. She's very gentle and loves everybody. She's very grateful to her foster family for taking her in, getting her veterinary care, and caring for her. On February 17, 2010, Wander met a lady from Perth-Andover, and they decided they'd like to live together. Wander will spend no more time in the cold winter snow, but will live happily ever after. Congratulations, Wander!

Meet "Dharma." She's about two years old, and she came to us on January 27, 2009. Some kind people who help the feral colony at the Carleton Co-Op in Florenceville found her freezing and screaming in the middle of the night, and took her home. Unfortunately, their Rottweilers were much too dangerous for her, so they asked for help. Dharma was examined and it was learned that she had frostbite on her ears, hock and pads of her feet. How painful that must have been! She was already spayed and is a real cuddle cat, which implies that she was once a house cat and that she is yet another victim who was dropped off when she was no longer wanted. Dharma would like to express her deep gratitude to the man and woman who rescued her and gave her another chance at life. She lived at the Clinic for a year until . . . . . . February 17, 2010 when she was recognized as a cat who had belonged to a family member several years ago. This family now lives in Florida, but they were contacted and are very pleased to come get her this summer and take her back into their home. In the meantime, Dharma, formerly known as Ebony, will live with a kind lady in Bath until her family returns for her. She's very happy, and her family is very eager to have her back.

Scooby came to us on September 28, 2009 from Woodstock, NB. He was a stray who had been hanging around a community looking for food, but he was continually being beaten up by four local tomcats. He was only about a year old, and he's a very nice young boy. He has a very laid-back personality, and wouldn't harm anyone. He certainly didn't deserve to be bullied! As you can see in this picture, he's very happy to be safe and warm with a full belly. A lady from the area tried to help him, but could not take him in. At her wit's end, she asked for help for him, and also brought a huge donation that would much more than ensure that he would be neutered and have lots of food while he was with DunRoamin' awaiting a permanent home. He's a really sweet boy, and wanted nothing more than to meet someone who will love him. He loves other cats, especially kittens, and loves to play and cuddle with them . On February 16, 2010, he met a lady and her young son from Woodstock. They decided that they'd like to become a family, and Scooby now lives with them and their young cat. Congratulations to everyone! Good luck, Scoob!

On November 16, 2009, "Bixby" came to us from the Beechwood area where he had been dropped off at a home. He was about four or five months old, and had worms and earmites. He was also missing the lower part of his right hind leg, and the bone was sticking out through the skin. This must have been very painful for him, because it's a trauma - he definitely wasn't born that way. Bixby underwent surgery to amputate his leg, and he runs like the wind now - no pain, only fun!! Bixby is a very nice little boy. He's very cuddly and affectionate, and he likes dogs. Bixby's worms and earmites were treated, and he's doing fine. He was fostered by Margo, and he'd like to thank her for being so kind and generous to him. On February 15, 2010, a lady came back who had met Bixby last week. She was in love, it seems, and she was the one he had picked out from the start. Bixby now lives with his new love in Connell, along with the remainder of his new family which includes a dog, cat and kids. Congratulations to everyone! Way to go, Bixby!!

This is "Purrington Alexander DunRoamin' II, Esq." On October 13, 2010, a very young kitten was seen eating Cheezies from a garbage can at the Dollar Store in Bristol. It's been pretty cool at night, and not all that warm in the daytime. Tonight it's supposed to be -4*C. Much too cold for such a little boy to be all alone with no decent food. He was only about three months old. Purrington was taken in by DunRoamin' when there were no other alternatives available as no one could give him shelter. The lady who rescued him is from Alberta, and had no way to care for him here. He's a beautiful boy who purrs and kneads, very grateful to be safe and warm. He's very affectionate and will roll over in your hands and knead the air if you'll rub his belly. "Purrington" is a very apt name for him! On October 16, 2010, while attending the DunRoamin' Adoption Fair, Purrington met a young lady from Hartland with whom he fell in love, and vice versa. Purrington will now live with another former DunRoamin' stray, Punk. Congratulations! Don't forget you promised photos!

Paris and "Roam" were originally found on August 24, 2009, along with their mother, London, on the Dump Road between Bristol and Florenceville where they were probably dropped off to make their own way, as there are no homes in the vicinity. They were born about the middle of June, 2009. They had been adopted by a family in August, but they learned that family members were allergic. On October 5, 2009, Paris and Roam returned to DunRoamin'. They're both very affectionate and playful. Paris loves to pat you on the face, and Roam is the first one to greet you when you come in the door On February 11, 2010, Paris and Roam met a gentleman who lives in Oakland. They will be his only pets, and are looking forward to getting all the attention and love they deserve!

This is "Gritty." She and her sister Grimey were filthy dirty and hungry from trying to survive on their own when they came to a home in Wicklow. They came to us on March 23, 2009. Gritt and Grime headbutt, purr and knead, and they love other cats. They sleep entwined, and one always searches for the other if they're not within touching distance of each other. On December 15, 2009, they went to spend Christmas with a wonderful couple in Knoxford. On February 8, 2010, we learned that Gritty and Grimey (see below) had both found their forever home! They will live and love permanently with this family which also includes a dog, another cat and several grandchildren whom Gritt and Grime love. Their friend Prince William will also be with them. Meet "Prince William." On November 4, 2008 around midnight, Dr Monteith received a telephone call. A lady who lived on Prince William Street in Woodstock had found a kitten sitting on her doorstep. He had head injuries and he was not moving. He had massive bruising and swelling to his head, but nothing appeared to be broken. His whiskers were broken and bent, and he may have been struck by a vehicle, or maybe kicked in the head. He slept in her laundry basket all night, and the next day, with medical care, he was doing much better. He's about five months old. Prince William purrs when someone talks to him, and he appears healthy, despite his injuries. Prince William had been looking forward to meeting someone who might like to make him a member of their family. On December 15, 2009, he went to spend Christmas as a foster kitty with a very nice couple from Knoxford. He walked into their house and made himself right at home! On February 8, 2010, we learned that his foster home had become his permanent home. Prince William loves his new family, and feels like he's in heaven. He also has his friends Gritt and Grime (see above) to keep him company, as well as another cat and a dog. Thanks to Jack and Joy for giving these guys a loving home.

This is "Turbo." On the evening of September 10, 2008, a young man saw five young kittens on the side of a road in Mapledale, near Debec. They were all alone, and several kilometres from any house. Unable to just drive on by, he picked them up (after spending 20 minutes trying to catch one!) and took them to a family he knew would help. Twinkle and Isis, (both girls), Turbo, Diesel and Jet (all boys) were only about 5 or 6 weeks old. They were already very socialized and loved people. They were fostered by Emily Hull and her family in Woodstock, and are foster playmates for Zoe and Wednesday. Twinkle, Isis and Diesel quickly found homes, but Jet and Turbo liked it where they were. Turbo is very friendly and loves to greet everyone who comes to the door, friend or stranger. They lived the life of which they had dreamed, and never wanted to leave. Therefore . . . . . . on January 7, 2011, both Turbo and his brother Jet were officially adopted into the family. This was no real news to them, as they'd been celebrating every single day since their rescue. They already considered themselves family, and were also considered so by their humans. Paperwork's just paperwork, right guys? You've been home since September 10, 2008! Congratulations! !

This is "Sunni." She originally came from the Carleton Co-Op in Florenceville shortly after she was born in 2002, and was thought to be feral. With a loving foster home, she became very social, and was adopted by her foster mother. However, allergies developed in the household, and she was returned to DunRoamin' on September 19, 2009. Sunni is a beautiful and affectionate cat. She loves people and loves to be brushed more than anything else in the entire world! She's also a cuddler, and she talks to you constantly. Sunni stayed at the Clinic, but she really needed to get back to a family situation where she could sleep on a lap, watch TV, talk to people, and generally be the loving cat she is. She waited patiently until . . . . . . February 4, 2010, when she met a lady who already had one older cat, but wanted another one to keep them both company. Sunni chose this lady, and she was perfectly willing to be chosen! Sunni was very happy to go home with her to Woodstock where she can do all the things she's dreamed of doing, and live in a loving home. Congratulations to Sunni and to her new family!

This is "Willis." On November 1, 2008, he was found in Connell Park, Woodstock. He had apparently been struck by a car and his injuries included head trauma. He had a fracture in his jaw, bone fragments in his mouth, and bruising around his eye and ear. He also lost three teeth as a result of the impact, but they were his baby teeth, so his permanent ones were fine when they grew in. He was only about five months old, and he was not yet neutered. A lady brought him to us along with a large donation to cover his treatment, and Willis thanks her from the bottom of his heart for her kindness, compassion and generosity. She sets a wonderful example. Willis was treated with antibiotics and pain medication and was eventually neutered. His jaw healed perfectly without surgery. At first food had to be syringed into his mouth, but in two days he was eating on his own, happy to have a soft warm bed, safety and plenty of food. He rapidly overcame his timidness thanks to Margo who took him home as a foster kitty, along with Prince William. Willis then came back to the Clinic. His favourite pastime is playing with the little kittens, and he got along well with the other 20 cats he lived with. On January 23, 2010, Willis was given a foster home by a lady he had met previously. She couldn't get him out of her mind. On January 28, 2010, we received word that Willis had settled in very well and loves to play with his new brother, Rowley. His family loves him to bits, and they know that they'll never be able to part with him. Willis has waited a long time for his piece of heaven, and he's finally got it. Thanks, Kathryn and Dennis! Congratulations, Willis!

Meet "Digit." He came to us on January 21, 2010 from the Lakeville area. A lady had been driving when she noticed a cat hanging upside down from the screen door of a house. She knew he was in trouble and stopped to help. No one was home, and he had apparently climbed the screen door and two toes of his right hind leg had become stuck in the screen. These two toes had become dislocated with his attempts to free himself. He was exhausted and his toes had turned purple. He was also very hungry, but too tired even to eat. He was a stray who had apparently gone to this house to try to get food and warmth. Digit's injury was treated, and he was very grateful to have pain medication and lots of food, as well as a warm bed. He's only about three months old. We'd all like to thank the lady who saved him, especially Digit. On January 28, 2010, Digit was very happy to meet a young couple from Victoria Corner who wished to give him a permanent loving home. He will live happily (and safely!) ever after with this family. He's very grateful, as are we all!!

On October 8, 2009, several cats and kittens were removed from a condemned house in the Plaster Rock area. "Mirage," the mother of four three-week old kittens, was one of them, and was only about a year old. She was a fantastic mother who raised four beautiful and loving kittens of her own and took in two other unrelated kittens, Harlan and Bounty, (see above) and cared for them also. Mirage was a very loving and attentive mother. She was healthy, although she ate as though she thought there'd be none there when she went back for more!! She was skinny, but soon began to gain weight. Mirage lived at the Clinic, was spayed and soon started playing again. She is totally non-aggressive, and is happy to let anyone else take the lead. She's very affectionate, and has a raspy "Meow" which will attract your attention quite quickly! She's also very attentive to humans, and comes when called, or even when she sees you walk into a room. On January 26, 2010, her wait for a home was over! She met a wonderful lady from Waterville, and Mirage now lives with her and her family which also includes a dog and cat. She's very grateful for a family to love, and looks forward to watching lots of TV. Thanks to this family for taking her in!

Watson came to DunRoamin' from the Fredericton area on December 5, 2009. He had been hit by a car and broken his left front leg. He was due to be euthanized, but he's only a year and a half old,and is a beautiful boy. He loves people, and was certainly not ready to die. Watson underwent surgery on his leg and was neutered. He's very quiet, loving and laid back. On December 17, 2009, Watson met Annette, who is a Reiki Master-Teacher in Florenceville. She very generously offered to utilize her skills to help Watson heal his elbow. Watson made great progress, and on January 10, 2010, he came back to the Clinic to have his bandage removed, and Ambrose went to be fostered by Annette so she could help him with his leg. She and her family also fostered Chopper and Eve. Thank you so very much, Annette. All these little guys are very grateful for the benefit of your Reiki techniques and your loving home! On March 17, 2010, Watson had the pin removed from his leg, and he began playing very quickly. He's perfectly fine now! On March 18, 2010, Watson was chosen by a lady who lives in Goods Corner to live with her. He can't wait to join the family. He'd like to thank the lady who will become his new family, and also all the people who made this new life possible!

Harlan came to us on November 6, 2009 from Gordonsville, NB. A feral cat had had kittens, but had apparently abandoned them. Little Harlan was found laying on top his two dead siblings. He was brought to DunRoamin' for help, and he was only about three weeks old. Harlan was taken to meet Mirage who was nursing four baby kittens of her own and one other younger kitten, Bounty, whose own mother had died. Mirage immediately started bathing little Harlan, and became mother to him, also. If she hadn't, he'd need to be fed with a syringe or baby bottle every few hours around the clock, and be stimulated to go to the bathroom. We know one thing for sure: he can certainly purr when he's warm and his belly is full, even at such a very young age! Harlan lived in a foster home with Bounty, Mirage, her four kittens, and several other cats. On January 16, 2010, Harlan met a young lady and her mother who live in Grafton. He was pleased to learn that both he and Bounty (see below) will be going to live with her permanently where they'll run, play and sleep on the bed with her. And best of all, they'll get to stay together! Thanks for giving them a home!

Meet "Bounty." On October 8, 2009, several cats and kittens were rescued from a condemned house in the Plaster Rock area. Tiny little Bounty was about two weeks old. She had no mother. Fortunately, Mirage, a mother from the same house with four kittens of her own, kindly consented to feed and care for her. Bounty was treated for fleas and earmites but was otherwise healthy, Although younger and smaller than her foster siblings, Bounty quickly learned to take care of herself, and she wrestled and played with the older kittens very easily. When her four older foster siblings were adopted, she and Harlan (see above) then became much closer. They love to play and cuddle together, and will look for each other if they become separated. On January 16, 2010, Bounty was introduced to a young lady and her mother from Grafton. She immediately fell in love with Bounty's abundance of cuteness, and it was confirmed that she'll now reside with her best friend Harlan (see above). Thanks for adopting them into your family. This is "Lilly-Beth." We learned from a young teenage DunRoamin' supporter that there was a kitten in the Stickney area who required help. On the morning of October 9, 2010, this young supporter directed Dr Drost and Larry to its location. Lilly-Beth was only about eight weeks old. Her left eye had been traumatized in a manner which made it lay out on her cheek where it had probably been for several days. It had become badly infected, so in the early afternoon of October 9, Drs Monteith and Drost performed surgery to remove her eye. This little girl has a wonderful personality. Even with this terrible and painful injury, she follows people around to be picked up. Once picked up, she kneads and purrs without pause. If her paws don't happen to be touching the person while she's being held, she kneads the air in gratitude and contentment, happy just to be held, loved and free of pain. Lilly-Beth would like to thank Morgan and Danielle for finding her, Larry for going to retrieve her, and Dr Monteith and Dr Drost for repairing her injury. By the way, Lilly-Beth LOVES dogs! On December 11,2010, a gentleman who has a DunRoamin' dog, Morley, traveled all the way from Fredericton to meet Lilly-Beth at our Home For The Holidays event. It took seconds to fall in love and she was adopted on the spot. The next day we received an update saying she already has 23 favourite places and has already lost two mice, four ping pong balls and several plastic golf balls. She'll be sleeping curled up with Morley, next! Sounds like pure heaven, Lilly-Beth! Congratulations! Merry Christmas to your whole family.
